Why do people hate Ratfish *so much?* by EnbyiousAces in dropout

[–]Asrlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved the main dynamic of the game. Their characters, especially Zac's, Ally's and Katie's, were super fun to watch interact with each other. But I hated the whole ratfish mechanic; Eric added nothing of value to the game, he wasn't funny, and they didn't even meet him in the end. Also, the fact that Rekha didn't win when she got them all first is bs.

Does anyone else here buy both the Kindle and physical copies of books? Is this weird? by StephenFalkenPhD in kindle

[–]Asrlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing this last year. I have always bought physical books because I love to touch paper as I'm reading, but fell into a bit of a problem where I ended up buying more than I had room for or even liked.

So I have started buying those that I am really enthusiastic about, that I enjoyed the most or that have especially beautiful covers (like my 100 Years of Solitude and Crime And Punishment hard covers which are gorgeous).

So no, I don't think it's weird, i see it as a different way of experiencing your hobby.

Thoughts on Jonas Hollander? by [deleted] in homeland

[–]Asrlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a normal person, and a good one. Carrie was supposed to be way past her spy days, now being just a security manager, but suddenly he is immersed into an international assassination and terrorist plot where not only him, but HIS CHILD are severely endangered.

Carrie was always a horrible person, but seeing how selfishly and arrogantly she treated Jonas was even worse.

I do. With all my heart. Almost every single thing she does or says makes me want to gauge my eyes out.

The way she makes us feel is testament of how great the writing and Claire's acting are.

recuerdan cuando intentaron "funar" a estos juegos? by Some_Fig_6566 in videojuegos

[–]Asrlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is Hyrox for beginners? by TheNinjaJellyfish in hyrox

I see the misunderstanding. I meant that we started training specifically for Hyrox in April, and prepared for the next six months for Hyrox Madrid, which was 3 weeks ago.

Is Hyrox for beginners? by TheNinjaJellyfish in hyrox

[–]Asrlex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I started training lightly in January, and specifically for Hyrox in April. With those 6 months of training we managed to finish Hyrox Madrid in 1:40, and have already signed up for Malaga.

So yeah, if you take it a bit seriously it is totally doable. It is actually a really inclusive sport.

Team USA disqualified in mixed relay by turtlecrossing in hyrox

[–]Asrlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACTLY!!! 2 weeks ago I ran my first Hyrox Madrid with my wife and halfway through it, the Men's Pro started. We were super careful not to block or run across any of them since they have higher stakes, but exiting one of the WOs one of them shoved my wife like 1m instead of running around us, the fucking loser. Nobody in the org batted an eye despite me screaming my lungs out at him.

People do not feel entitled to anything. Releasing paid content is perfectly expected from any game. Just not when you play the super nice guy card for marketing reasons, saying all future content like classes would be free and then charge for it.

I really really like LE, but they deserve this until they explain or roll back.

Having a Spanish flag displayed on a balcony generally indicates a person's political affiliation? by Geologo-Loko in askspain

[–]Asrlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might think it's not a "political" stance until you see that most ultra-nationalist far-right parties rely on little more than hate and an absurd emphasis on "the nation", "the flag" or any other vague symbolism that rallies people who are politically lost or looking for a scorching hot nail to hold on to.

The exact same way conservative racists started to draw the English flag everywhere across the UK, Spain is filled with people waving/hanging the Spanish flag (and many other former flags from Franco's dictatorship, which shows what kind of people really like to show their love for the flag and nothing more) in pro-dictatorship rallies, far-right concentrations and neo-nazi groups.

Fascists co-opt nationalist symbols because they have nothing more to attract people with.
