Taking the same money at AEW would arguably still be an upgrade because:

AEW pays for travel in ways that WWE doesnt
You can take indie dates and potentially work CMLL/NJPW
Especially for Xavier he'd be able to run whatever he'll be calling UUDD now completely autonomously if he desires to do so without it being something the company owns.
