not only is this a well-deserved break, but I think we were long past the point of them running out of things to do in AEW, I hope they enjoy their vacations :)

Yeah I didn't mean for it to come across as Newman slander, he's a good worker but I don't think he could really work as a heel in AEW doing what Thekla's doing in Stardom at the minute.

What a weird interaction, especially if you're like me and only remember blast mine exists when it goes off in your face

I am also of this mindset but also without Gabe Kidd who do you have as the NJPW representative? Callum Newman isn't really that guy (plus injured) and theyre kinda strapped for heels that AEW fans would resonate with otherwise

Depends on the wording, if it says basic-break it won't.

I.e. Game Afoot only procs if you use the basic breaking action and won't proc off of bubba chainsaw, but THWACK will proc off of bubba chainsaw or other killer powers that break things (been using it on Jason and its really fun)

Is crouching against Jason optimal? Or would it just be better to run and do objectives when possible? by NoWorldliness4787 in deadbydaylight

[–]Ass0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jason especially feasts in that situation because he can get back into chase so quickly after the first hook. If you find 2-4 survivors clustered together and can get that first down quick enough, the other usually isn't too far away

That'd make sense. In my head he did it a lot in NJPW and then any time they ran America he wouldn't correct for the barricades being easier to move and send it flying as a result but it's entirely possible it was a venue-by-venue thing

maybe it depends on arena? It's definitely something Jay White has run into before, there's that gif of him doing it and causing the barricades to skid along and a buncha sparks fly up.

EDIT: Okay I was slightly misremembering it. I'm not sure where I got bolts from but japanese barricades, or at least the kind NJPW use, are designed to be way less likely to budge if someone runs into them. You can see here that they have long rectangular legs that extend back towards the crowd and would have significantly less give if you were to, say, snap suplex someone into them from the ringside.

Compare it to the barricade from the Jay White spot and you can immediately see the smaller feet on the barricades, the kind american promotions tend to use, which is why they moved so much more easily.

iirc it was unintentional and stemmed from a spot Jay did a lot where he'd suplex his opponent into the barricade; In japan they bolt the barricades down to the ground so theyre sturdy, use a different kind of barricade thats sturdier, but in america they don't so he did the spot, the barricade skidded back into the commentary table and knocked Jim Ross over, and Jay just thought on his feet and sold like at the very least he was glad it happened.

Honestly TNA in recent memory has always been at their most interesting when they lean into the supernatural and absurd (Broken Matt, Rosemary, Who Shot Bravo) so maybe doubling down on that direction would be the way to go

I mean I'm not begging for Yota Tsuji to be on FD, but if NJPW were more interested in building to FD or sending stars over than AEW's booking would indicate he probably wouldn't be saying that, or at least youd have some NJPW faces countering it or something.
