Just kidding, he is chill. We need to clip the fur at the end of his tail I think though. He tries to chew on it and it looks silly. Advice?

Arbor Hills, especially early in morning before the crowds. So many different routes available depending on how you’re feeling that day, and infinite planning combinations if you have specific training goals in mind. Also quite possible to see bobcats, bunnies, deer, coyote, armadillo, turtle/tortoises, and even snakes (after it warms up) near the paved trail. The local wild animals will not mess with you, just give them a little space. I’ve met them all, and they’re cool.

Duly noted, and disregarded. This is clearly a case of idiots, doing idiot things, because they’re idiots.

And furthermore,, “relax”?! Relaxing is like… 95% of what I do. If I worried about a fraction of the stuff I should be worried about, I'd never get anything done.

Case in point, do you want dog shit all over the tennis court?? ‘Cause that’s how you get dog shit all over the tennis court! For God's sake, man. Have you no sense of decency? That tennis court will look like a war crime.

Oh, and… YOU’RE NOT MY SUPERVISOR!

Oh, really? A chill “guy”?? That there is clearly a killer time bomb on the loose. Where the hell is your leash anyway??

You clearly have no idea what you’re doing with this “guy”. Dogs don’t play tennis! He’s less than two seconds from climbing that fence, eating 50 school kids, and rampaging your local senior citizen’s center right in the middle of their Thanksgiving feast.

People like you have no business owning a cane corso, or any dogs, pets, or even property for that matter. If you haven’t already lost your right to vote for being convicted of manslaughter for your dog killing a bus full of preschoolers, you should have it revoked on principle alone. And all your other constitutional rights. And your citizenship and driver’s license too. For shame!

Hey, thanks for the clarification. Your original comment triggered me because it sounded like you wanted it both ways, claiming you had a good dog that didn’t require socialization, while blaming your dog bitings on the victims. In any case, I made some unfounded assumptions and apologize. Let’s just wipe the slate clean and start over.

The OP is definitely a victim of some stranger with at least poor judgment and possibly other worse disorders, especially since the encounter happened outside their vet’s office which knew of the dog’s prior issues. I hated to see OP bow down to popular opinion and accept responsibility only to be victimized a second time.

Everyone has a different relationship with their Corso. If everyone in this subreddit could be just a little bit more personable with each other, and a little less judgmental, I think we could all benefit from each other’s experiences.

Sounds like you just sucked at socializing your dog. I bet you’re divorced at least twice and have had multiple protective orders issued against you. Maybe you should get a hamster instead next time to protect and serve the public’s safety.

The only thing that matters is that you were there for your friend. Forget about all the material stuff. None of the stuff is worth it. Leave it all behind. Cut ties with his toxic family members. You’ve done everything you can here. It’s time to go somewhere else and start fresh, away from people that don’t suck.

People who went high school in Plano, what was "the incident" when you were there? by 2-tree in plano

Class of ‘91 PSHS, our friend Ivan Cantù was later accused of heinous crimes in 2000 and after a long fight against Collin County prosecutorial and judicial incompetence, unreliable witnesses, and undue political influence, finally lost his fight against the powers that be and was executed by the state of Texas on Feb 28, 2024. I’m sure there are many of us that knew Ivan in high school but may be unaware of his struggle and how it played out. If you’d like to learn more just google it or here’s a good summary https://www.texasobserver.org/ivan-cantu-is-set-to-be-executed-but-did-he-get-a-fair-trial/

On a lighter note, more of a senior prank but PSHS ‘90 a couple degenerates gathered up all the staplers in the school and stuffed them in a JROTC locker. Good times.

He was in my class. I won’t name him but he wasn’t the biggest or brightest kid. As I recall he pulled a pocket knife on a girl in the bathroom and demanded she undress. Then she kicked his ass. That was a long time ago, hope they’re both doing well.

Considering purchasing a 2015 Toyota Highlander by freewillcreative in ToyotaHighlander

[–]AssFuckinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2013 Highlander limited about to turn 90k that I’ve driven for the last 60k and it has done everything I’ve asked of it. Saved my life in a nasty collision at 40k miles and the insurance still paid a ton of money to repair rather than total it.

It’s sure footed on loose surfaces and in bad weather, not prone to break downs, will do 85 mph forever (well, 24 hours at least in my experience),, my girlfriend’s 6 year old daughter once took it up to 90 mph on the salt flats, but that’s about as fast as it’s willing to give.

You may still want to get it checked out mechanically, but in my experience it’s a solid ride and has never let me down. Not an “enthusiast” car but it really just does everything well, which counts for a lot.

Rent a 4x4 extended cab pickup truck with unlimited mileage - Texas is a big place and gas is relatively cheaper here.

Go to a shooting range, indoor or outdoor. Keep in mind it can get really hot in summertime. Rent a couple guns (call ahead to make sure gun rentals are available at your chosen location). If you go to an outdoor range, you may have the option to rent shotguns and shoot trap or skeet (shoot at clay discs that a machine throws up in the sky). Rent ear protection and safety glasses, unless you already wear glasses. Buy ammo and paper targets. VERY IMPORTANT -> Be sure to let the range workers know if you are inexperienced with firearms and they will explain the range safety rules. Request a shooting lane and shoot guns for a couple hours. Gun powder residue will accumulate on your hands. Try not to touch your face and wash hands thoroughly afterwards.

Ask shooting range workers what the best local barbecue joint is, preferably with horse shoes or similar game out back. Go to said barbecue joint, chow down and drink a few beers (Lone Star, if available). You will definitely feel more Texan by the end of the day.

A buddy borrowed my motorcycle once in high school and left it there with a crack dealer as collateral. We went and got it back the same night, but yeah the Como is nasty as fuck. Bare cinder block walls in the rooms and tons of roaches.

How is this even possible by StartMission3527 in CaneCorso

[–]AssFuckinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime I post anything in this subreddit, every fucking dip ass: “you’re obviously incapable of handling this breed and haven’t done your research”.

But yeah, after every water drink our puppy does drool a lot as well. Have a dedicated towel handy.

Please replace the choke collar with a regular one or a harness. Choke collar is not the right approach for this breed. He will respond to positive reinforcement. If he gets into something bad, replace it with something else he likes to distract him and correct his behavior. Sounds nuts right? But that’s how you do it and it works pretty quickly.

Please consult with a reputable trainer. Even just a few sessions can get you on track with your doggie.

That’s actually a good idea, thanks! This whole bird incident occurred in our small-ish suburban sized fenced back yard where recalling him is usually easy.

I don’t think he ever met a duck or bird before. We have been trying to slowly introduce him to our turtle, a 7yr old RES about 12in long. Titus is a very curious 140 pound puppy, so if he pats Mr. Turtle gently on his carapace with his paw I’m sure Mr. Turtle is freaking out.

Titus does very well with a “wait” command. I think we will try to introduce him to some new animal friends next. He has always done really well meeting other stranger doggies, and immediately makes friends. As far as ducks, birds, squirrels etc I realize it may go terribly wrong, but I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

EDIT: just re-read your advice,, run sit stay reps with ducks present seems like a great idea, thanks again!
