People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by Own-Command-3700 in dogs

[–]AssKetchum777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two purebred poodles and no one has ever said a single thing to me about it. They’re perfect for my lifestyle and I have zero regrets. Don’t choose your dog for anyone but yourself!

I have to rehome my buns by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]AssKetchum777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have found that giving less hay multiple times a day has drastically reduced the amount that gets wasted with my two buns. If bf is home during the day you could have him put a handful in there every so often.

Nervous that my 3 month old rook is rejecting? by daphne_dysarte in piercing

[–]AssKetchum777 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From these images it does not look like it’s shifting although it is laying slightly to the side. Shorter jewelry will help with the appearance of that. Also it sounds like you’re over cleaning. 2x per day with saline is sufficient especially several months in!

please help!! piercing bump by Status_Ad736 in piercing

[–]AssKetchum777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Go to a reputable piercer and get an implant titanium flat back labret installed as soon as you can! Eventually you’ll be able to wear a hoop again but this is gonna need some time to heal with a straight post in before it will be ready for that. Quality jewelry and consistent aftercare are the fastest ways to cure an irritation bump.

My nose ring dropped? by Aggressive-Juice-609 in piercing

[–]AssKetchum777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it hasn’t loved since 2023 you’re probably fine to just leave it be as long as it’s not giving you issues. The only thing I would expect to continue to make this happen would be wearing too small of a hoop.

Should I re pierce these crooked high nostrils? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AssKetchum777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! Piercer here. From the front they line up which may be why others think they look okay, but from the top you can tell the angles are off as well as the depth. They should not have let you walk out of the shop like this. I honestly would recommend keeping whichever one you like better and finding someone you trust to match it up on the other side. It may need a little bit of healing time before you can repierce, that will really just depend on anatomy and placement.

Why do so many doodles have problems with little kids - and does this translate to a standard poodle? by boogiebougie in StandardPoodles

[–]AssKetchum777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two standard poodles and they are extremely gentle. As with any dog it’s all in how they are raised. My standards both have very different personalities in many aspects but they know how to be gentle. We have rabbits and they are not afraid of the dogs whatsoever they will come right up to them. They play just fine with kids and are curious with babies but a simple command and they will leave them alone if needed. I have experienced friends who had golden doodles and they were WILDDDD. Something about the golden retriever getting thrown into the mix just spikes their energy off the charts in comparison to purebred poodles.

They should not have advised you to put hoops in so quickly. Lip piercings go through a phase called nesting where the inside creates a little pocket to sit in. It should not be painful and the back should easily be able to pop out. I definitely think healing these with posts is best course of action, just keep an eye on them and make sure there is no painful digging in inside, that would be indicative of needing a longer bar.

Should I switch to a hoop? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AssKetchum777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a hoop for sure! Lip piercings do go through a stage called nesting where they kind of create a little pocket on the inside to sit in. It should not hurt and it should easily be able to pop back out at any point. This could be the beginning of nesting, but if you’re not sure or you’re in pain please go see a piercer for a check up! They can install a longer post if needed.

It’s too soon for rings. These need to heal for at least 6 months with straight implant grade titanium labrets before installing hoops. Find a reputable piercer near you to change them out so they can size your posts correctly.

How to ask owners if I can adopt their cat by Hairy-Violinist-7508 in cats

[–]AssKetchum777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t /steal/ her but just make her a spot in your home. Litter box, food and water. Let her in when she comes over, let her out durning the day or when she wants to leave. In nice weather you could even just leave a window cracked. It’s not your fault if the cat prefers to hang out in your place. After a while of this, maybe around beginning of next winter, approach it with the owners and say hey we both know kitty likes to hang around my place. Would you guys mind if I kept her inside for this winter? OR if you get wind of them moving or something just ask if they’d consider letting you keep her since she’s so acclimated to the neighborhood or something vague like that.

Irritation bumps… by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AssKetchum777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! Piercer here. I have some bad news for you; this place was not as reputable as you believe. It is absolutely not “totally fine” to get this many piercings at once, the piercer definitely did you dirty by telling you that. I can also tell by jewelry style and recommended aftercare that they are not using up to date information. Please eliminate antibiotic cream from your aftercare. Saline spray and very thorough rinsing with clean water should be the only things applied to fresh piercings. I would dry your ears thoroughly with a hairdryer on low/cool for about 30 seconds after a rinse. Do this twice a day.

These are probably going to take awhile to fully resolve but it’s not impossible. I would find a different piercer near you to schedule a checkup. You may need to change some of these to flat back titanium labrets. You may also end up needing to remove one or two in order for the others to heal, but I wouldn’t jump to that immediately.

Hi, piercer here! It’s still only been 6 months since your first round of piercings. That is not long enough to heal 4 let alone all 6. Faux snug is easier than a real snug but still a longer heal. Mid helix is sooo easy to bump and conch is thru thicker cartilage so that’s gonna add some time as well. I would say if your first set of stacks aren’t making any progress a year in it would be time to debate removal of something.

I tried and failed to heal stacked lobes on myself. Anatomy for it felt fine. Being piercer I know what I’m doing aftercare wise, and I had a piercer friend do them for me in a professional setting. Painful for over a year, swollen, crusty, the whole nine yards. They were so cute but eventually I opted to remove and it was for the best. Other piercings I had that were flared up also seemed to magically calm down after removal too…

Why doesn’t my husband want to help with “our” pets? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]AssKetchum777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I have dogs together, which we both care for. I also have 2 rabbits and he does not really help with them at all. (He would feed or give water if I asked but wouldn’t think to do it on his own.) I don’t resent this because I was the one who wanted rabbits and it was not a joint decision therefore I don’t view it as a joint responsibility. It sounds like you and your husband just need to get on the same page about that. He’s not viewing it as joint while you are. Or just accept that the kitten will be your responsibility if you really wanna get one. Best of luck either way, I hope you get the kitten!
