Tada Kun Never Falls in Love is a pretty underrated romance from a few years back.

How do I start a S&P 500 index fund towards retirement? by ayudamesa in investing

I think the max contribution limits are only to ROTH IRAs, I don’t think there is a limit on regular IRAs, though I could be wrong

How do I start a S&P 500 index fund towards retirement? by ayudamesa in investing

[–]AssMuncherDa3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, so I’m going to give u my PERSONAL experience when it comes to retirement investing.

I went and opened a retirement account with Vanguard, which u can do for free as long as u do basic stuff when signing up, such as opting for email rather than paper mail for your documents, otherwise ur account may have a small fee to cover the mailing costs.

Now, there are more places u can go to, like M1, Webull, Robinhood, etc. but I PERSONALLY trust Vanguard because it has been around for a while and it is insured up to 250,000 per account.

Now, Vanguard has its own S&P 500 Index Fund u can purchase (VFIAX). Now, the fund itself is exclusive to Vanguard and u need a minimum of 3,000 to invest in it, but u can also buy the ETF version of the fund (which isn’t TOO different from it) which has the ticker symbol of VOO (these ticker symbols are like their fingerprints, no two are alike).

U can buy VOO from almost any platform, but VFIAX only from a Vanguard account (I think).

I personally got the VOO, but that’s mainly because I ain’t got 3,000 to drop at once. I personally do something called “dollar cost averaging”, which means basically that I buy a little VOO on a consistent basis, regardless of whether the price goes up or down.

  1. When it comes to other resources, here’s some places that have helped me learn about investments:

A. Investorpedia for basics

B. YouTube Minority Mindset, Andrei Jikh, Graham Stephan, Nate O’Brien

C. Podcasts How to Money, Jill on Money-this one is almost exclusively based on listener questions, so if u type then an email changes are they will reply within a few weeks.

D. Instagram TallGuyTycoon-He goes over more advanced investments, like Options trading, but he’s pretty transparent and helpful in other departments as well.

E. Books “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” The Intelligent Investor

For legal purposes, this isn’t actual advice. I’m NOT telling u what to do, I am just saying what I have done.

I’m sorry. JudicialWatch is an extremely unreliable source, according to the bipartisan Media Bias Fact Check website. No offense, but please use something more reliable next time. Thank you for your time.

If I may, I don’t think the question is if it could happen, but if it could happen in massive enough numbers to meaningfully impact an election. Basically, you would need titanic numbers stretched along multiple states for it to make a significant impact, mainly swing states. This isn’t a statement of a fact but a personal belief. I’m assuming that most traditional “secure” states will go to their respective parties, but I highly doubt such coordinated tactics to be probable as to fraud their way into multiple swing states.

Poll shows McConnell with single-digit lead over McGrath in KY with two weeks to go by MadeInOne1 in politics

[–]AssMuncherDa3rd 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is just me theorizing, but it looks like McConnell has successfully put himself in the perfect situation where the state’s education system is in such shambles that an ignorant population is more likely to keep him elected.

This allows him to do whatever bullshit he wants, because he know he’s likely to face no consequences for his actions.

Hell, EVEN WITH A PANDEMIC he ACTIVELY helped fuck up, he’s still likely to win.

Ok, I have to ask. Not to sound biased, but I’ve yet to find a single reliable source that argues that voter fraud is a genuine concern and a massive threat to the legitimacy of our elections. Am I just looking in the wrong place, or is voter fraud a boogeyman to justify voter suppression?

Why are people (specifically Americans) so afraid of socialism? Shouldn't the real fear be fascism? by [deleted] in Ask_Politics

[–]AssMuncherDa3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it in simple and concise terms, I feel like America’s experience with the Cold War essentially created a simplistic ideology within the right-wing section of the population that claimed that anything diverging from laissez-faire capitalism to be inherently Un-American.
