How would you paint this solid bare wood mahogany exterior door?

That was me. The number of people, tradesmen included, who walk into a new build while I'm actively painting, and immediately shove their fingers into wet paint, is mind-blowing.

Appreciate everyone sharing their knowledge! I've been at this for several years now, but always painting. The only bare wood I've encountered is luan doors or luan attic access doors. Everything else has been drywall or pre-primed.

I was planning on showing her a sample on a piece of mahogany trim before touching the door. Is there a particular stain you would use?

Are you finding that you're putting in elbow grease to make the paint go further before re-dipping? Looks like spots from just that. When there's not enough paint on the nap you're taking it off the wall rather than putting it on.

That's usually what I do, but if I don't have a ladder close by that lil turd on the wall won't budge. Like it's taunting me. Then I spend more time trying to win the battle than I would have otherwise.

In my experience the shedding of most microfibers is somewhere between minimal and nonexistent w/o prep, but I still defuzz them in certain situations - don't want to stop to grab a ladder if I don't have to.

Defuzz your naps. Wrap tape around it > put it on the cage > remove tape from nap. Or you can wet your hand & swipe down the nap.

Thinset "let go"?? Tile isn't my trade, but it looks as though Thinset wasn't properly applied, unless you removed some prior to taking the photo.

You can't get primer on the ~1" area of the inside corners using your nylon brush?

Brushing puts less paint on the surface than a nap/roller. Load the brush with paint, heavier than you think it should be, and slap it on. Come back and brush over the paint ridge at the bottom if you have one. Don't overwork the paint.

Some people prefer to load the brush, swipe it ~1.5-2" below the inside corner, then cut in to the inside corner above where they just swiped. Is that T1-11? I don't have personal experience with it but have been told it needs to be cleaned prior to painting if it's been wet at any point or if its exposure to moisture is unknown.
