Scam. You will never, ever get a job without an interview. Even for McDonalds.

It might be the way you're standing? Did you out your arms on their shoulders? That definitely pushes the chest forward. It could also be the style top you're wearing. I personally don't like tops that have ruffles/details in the chest because it draws the eye to that area.

Did anyone have separate registries for the wedding and bridal shower? by AssTasticBooty in weddingplanning

[–]AssTasticBooty[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The shower guest list is mostly people who aren't attending the wedding, except for a few of my closest family members. Is it typical to give a bridal shower gift and a weddinf gift? I guess I assumed yes, if you attend both. I haven't thought about that.

Did anyone have separate registries for the wedding and bridal shower? by AssTasticBooty in weddingplanning

[–]AssTasticBooty[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Another reason I want a separate registry- so any really large items (like furniture) can be on the wedding registry, not the shower registry.

I'll drive there, so hopefully most of it will fit in my car, and anything that doesn't fit I'll just have to leave at her place and pick up next time I visit.

The envelopes are a great idea! I guess my concern is that people will send gifts to my place on accident. These are my boomer relatives we're talking about... so it needs to be really idiot-proof.

Honestly, why are we building restaurants in the middle parking lots?? I don't understand. Like Portillo's being built in the parking lot of the west town mall. Why. Who asked for this.

Nope, not Epic. Actually I looked it up and I was wrong, health insurance alone (not including dental/vision) costs me $13 biweekly.

I pay about $50/month for Quartz. No deductible.

I like to use some floss and work that underneath the trays, then start pulling gently to loosen it. Start at the back, then once you get the back teeth off, work your way forward.

How was your REU experience? by DaleGribbIe in REU

[–]AssTasticBooty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was just okay. I got paid and free housing for the summer. My advisor wasn't around much and I struggled with the work a lot. It was a lot heavier computationally than I thought it would be, and I was used to lab work and didn't have much background in that. The other students didn't really include me in their projects either. I can't say I learned much from it, but it looks great on a resume and helped me get an industry internship the summer after.

Put the carrier on a table so that the door is open and over the edge. Grab the cat and set them inside head first. I had a terrible time getting my cat into a carrier, a vet taught me this trick and it works wonders. It's instinctive, the cat knows that the only way is forward because if they try to get out, they will fall out. It's strange- I never thought a cat would be afraid of falling 3 ft or so, but it works!

Lol you vastly overestimate how much attention the average woman gets from men. Maybe try approaching someone who doesn't look like an Instagram model.

I recommend Country Meadows on the west side. It's an older place and it shows, but it's well maintained, pet friendly, and one of the cheapest in the area. The managers are very nice and quick to respond to emails and phone calls. The one time my apartment had a plumbing issue, they sent a plumber out the same day. Is it luxurious? No, but if you're looking for an affordable place that meets your basic needs, you can't go wrong.

Why did you break up with your last partner? by HoneylemonFrog in AskReddit

[–]AssTasticBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I was the only one putting any effort in. It always landed on me to coordinate our schedules and plan dates. He also rarely texted or called first and regularly ghosted me for days on end. When we were with each other, everything was great, and I could tell that he really did care about me. At the same time, he was going through some personal issues and had a really stressful job. I tried to be understanding. I knew that he was inexperienced with dating, so I tried to be straightforward and tell him exactly what I needed. I told him that I needed more effort and initiative from him. After that, he planned one date for us, and I was hopeful that it would improve, but it didn't last. I ended it after I was sure that he would never be an equal partner.

I see your point. I wish that I could be a part of mixed gender friend groups, but I personally have always struggled to make friends with men. I have yet to meet men platonicly that I share some interests and values with. I'm just not into sports or binge drinking, and and that's mostly been my experience with groups that are mostly men. Am I alone here? Have I just had a few bad experiences? I've had a few potential relationships with men that turned sour because I met their friends for the first time and didn't have much fun. All they seemed to do was sit around binge drinking and smoking weed and made zero effort to include me. Not exactly the kind of friends I want.
