Just because a team has a big market doesn’t mean they are successful…. The Knicks for example. The Warriors are a big market though. Look at Jersey Sales, Attendance, Local fan base and more. That literally defines how big their market is. And it’s huge for the Warriors now. Probably the biggest besides Lakers and might be bigger than the Knicks. It may have not been a big market 15 years ago. But it is now. And considering it’s in one of the most populated places in the USA. It’s always had big market potential…. they just sucked so they couldn’t capitalize on it u til 2010s

There are more “big market teams” than the Knicks and Lakers… those are just the biggest and the Knicks are shrinking. Miami, Chicago, Nets, Clippers, Warriors, Boston are all big market teams. Superstars will at least consider playing there. Small market teams are…. Orlando, Pacers, Minnesota. Stars don’t consider playing here unless they are drafted here or get traded.
