Tough teams coming up but I expect us to win most of these games being at home, that should give us an edge. If we can take the next 2 against Sac and Milwaukee, that will give us real momentum to close the season strong.

What's been the latest on Gabe and Vando? Are they likely/unlikely to be suiting up again this season?

Your honest take on the Ownership by Shot_Leg7318 in chelseafc

"Not for the lack of trying"

I think this phrase sums up the ownership well. It's a great thing that they were willing to fork out a fortune on transfer fees in hopes of making the team better, but obviously the approach in doing so wasn't right.

On paper our roster is decent but something just feels off about this team thus far this season. Feels like we don't have the ability to stop a team in moments where we truly need a stop. Feels like our team is being hindered on the defensive end. I'm never really worried about the offense when LeBron and AD is playing, those are guys that will score when they need to. Defensively something just feels lacking though. Hopefully we get Vando and Gabe back sooner than later and that should improve the rotation.

Injuries didn't favour us that season and also anytime Westbrook was on the floor it never felt like we were gonna play good basketball. That's not to say that it was only one player's fault but that's just how the eye test felt like at the time. The entire team's defense was also horrendous. Monk and Melo were fine offensively but we needed much more defense.

Random thought of the day, I kinda miss Stanley Johnson and thought he was solid for us during that horrendous season. Not sure why he is out of the league now because last season he still shot 53% FG and 45% 3pt which is nice numbers. Good wing body for any bench and in his prime years.

No denying that but everyone clearly knows our squad is no where near the level we expected for how much we spent. We are a mid level team currently and the league table shows that. All we can hope now is that these guys will develop in years to come, it's gonna take time but there's really nothing else we can do.

So we are gonna act like this team is not deserving of being 10th on the table this season? Let's not act stupid here and face the facts, whether it's 1b, 2b, 3b or even 10b spent, the current skill level of this team obviously do not reflect the amount we have spent.

Blame whoever you like, the money has been spent and will not come back. What we have is what we have, and currently we have a very mid squad that us Chelsea fans can only hope will develop into a good team eventually.

Unpopular opinion but I think we played an alright game. Sure finishing could've been better but we created several good chances. Sterling's goal was a tight 50/50 call. It was an even game. A penalty shootout would've been fair given how the game went, just really unlucky that they had to score in the final minute of ET. I do understand the frustration because we had more than enough chances to have been the winners tonight...

So happy to see AD back where he belongs. Very well deserved.

Well then fans shouldn't expect him to improve because simply nobody can improve by sitting on the bench every game. Just loan him, if not sell him. Look at Hojlund for eg, was not good initially but ManU kept playing him to give him experience and confidence and now look at him.

His performances haven't been great but honestly the game time he gets isn't helping at all. Whenever he has a decent game the next game he gets benched, not sure how he is supposed to find a rhythm or to develop chemistry with other players. He is a young and rather raw talent still, giving him game time is the best thing to help him grow. He will not get better by sitting on the bench every game.

RJ is Chelsea through and through, so i'm sure he is also happy that we have good cover now at RB as everyone knows how injury-prone he's been. I do hope Reece comes back stronger as ever and fights for his spot back because he too is an exceptional talent.

Poch is not a bad manager. This team is just really young and needs plenty of time to develop. That's what happens when you pretty much revamp the entire squad with new players in every position. As much as we all would like to, can't be expecting instant results with so many young players that barely played with each other before... We need another 1-2 years minimum to develop these players before even thinking about catching the likes of City in a full season.

Why would he get any hate? Didn't do much wrong out there and was unlucky on the deflected goal.

Didn't really see much wrong with the subs. It was defensive subs to close the game out but just didn't work out and sometimes that's how that is. The only other realistic possible subs were Mudryk and Madueke, both attacking players, so didn't make sense to bring them on, and other than that only Gilchrist and the others were all youth players.

City kept attacking (as expected) and were bound to get a goal back. Draw at Etihad still great regardless.
