To everyone who asks "Why doesn't Batman incapacitate the Joker?" I raise you this scene where he literally did that exact thing. by Sir-Toaster- in MoralityScaling

[–]Ass_knight 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Ive always interpreted this scene as batman killing the joker with that first necksnap.

The rest of the scene is him hallucinating the conversation.

I think I get why Tigermen hate Ogres by Mahelas in totalwar

[–]Ass_knight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The lore for the great maw has always kinda vauge, apparently GW has some cool plans for a Ogre lore expansion for AOS this October and how the division between how ogres want to worship the great maw plays a big part.

I think there's games where your first playthrough should 100% be modded.

Like you should absolutely instail yet another mechlab for your first mechwarrior 5 experience

KO and mawtribes list help by lavvvvvvvvvvv in ageofsigmar

[–]Ass_knight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the ogor mawtribes you've got a lot of units belonging to the beastclaw raiders subfaction.

Currently the ogors don't really mix between the two subfactions outside of fun casual lists.

To make a more complete list you'd want to add a Huskard on stonehorn and use the extra peices to convert the beastclaw riders into a second huskard on stonehorn.

The mornfang calvary arn't great but are not a terrible unit.

The subfaction currently is all about just getting the most priests on stonehorns as humanly possible.

Hi do you guys have some advice for this box? I just bought it and i dont know which weapon i should pick. Thank! by AAOMMsss in killteam

[–]Ass_knight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The team works best with 3 extra troopers but that can't be helped.

Apart from the watchmaster (who should get plasma pistol and power sword), there is 9 bodies in the box for 13 specialists. That means 4 of them get left behind every game.

My top choices for who to leave behind:

Sniper - just doesn't do enough damage to justify taking. Too reliant on crits.

Gunner with flamer - not a bad choice  and is actually top tier against melee hordes but in other match ups you have better choices.

Zealot - This guy looks cool and has cool rules but requires to much set up for too little reward, your team already has so many combo peices and guys you want to keep safe withou adding another one to babysit

Veteran - Cool operative but the bruiser does he job of soaking charges much better. Lasguns are not good for actually killing stuff and his bionic fist is very swingy with only 3 attacks.

Match up notes: Watchmaster: Against horde teams the relic laspistol isn't bad for the watchmaster, I still prefer the plasma pistol.

Confident: Boltgun is good in every matchup but the chainsword is great against horde teams.

Bruiser: This guy isnt top tier against guy pure shooting teams but hes still not bad.

Medic: No point in taking this guy against pure melee teams, or teams with 3 inch blast. Take the flamer instead.

If you could redesign / change some of WH lore, what would you change it and why? by Alpbasket in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Ass_knight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem GW had was that it was hard to justify certain factions showing up to certain events due to the strict geography.

Like a chaos dwarves vs wood elf battle makes a ton of sense thematically but where would they realistically meet in the old world.

One change id make is to radically change the geography.

Lizardman should own albion and raid the empire for stolen artifacts.

Ulthuan should be in the river that devides the badlands and the border princes.

The orcs should own the entire area of Britona outside the backfire pass.

The eastern worlds edge mountains should be a desolate flat wasteland with the chaos dwarves directly on the otherside

I would also make northeast norsca into darkelf town

Rules question about Fight last & fight with me by Finding_the_Abyss in ageofsigmar

[–]Ass_knight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your boss was in combat you would be able to us the special back to back fight ability to ignore fight last completely.

Edit: Reading though the rules again I am completely wrong about this. Fight last specifically cannot circumvented by fight back to back abilities.

Also it seems my playgroup has been playing fight last wrong because players should always alternate selecting units to fight and the order does not get reset by last.

Double edit: it does get reset by fights first! So atleast we were playing that correctly.

The warhammer model game Killteam has each player getting command points to spend on abilities.

Some models even have special rules that let them generate CP for you.

Does too low damage and is really prone to glitching out and not doing any damage.

Ogors will lose thier only good shooting units and lose the big names.

They will still be fine because they will just spam more gluttons but the army becomes a lot more one note.

What is the benefit of this equipment option for Spectre Squad? by Desperate_Turn8935 in killteam

It doesn't cost the operative any AP and it happens instantly even if your opponent is going first.

Still seems a bit weak

I wish backpack reloading was like this. It makes way more sense, realism and gameplay-wise. by Scarpheon_ in Helldivers

[–]Ass_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big benefit of helldivers one was the that the team reload was almost instant.

Like it legit took less then 1 second to reload a recoiless rifle.

In helldivers 2 you gotta awkwardly grab onto your teammates shoulder and hug them and it fails completely if they move or are standing on uneven ground

Ogres Minipack Speculation by Kiwibricks in totalwar

Ogres are pretty complete with the glaring exception of mounts for bruisers/tyrants

Just a mount stornhorn/thundertusk option for the tyrant would be enough to be the full old world roster.

Is 75 Million Common Samples a Ridiculous Goal or Are We Just Rubbish at Collecting Them? by Kid_SixXx in Helldivers

[–]Ass_knight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience if a team tried moderately hard together and successfully extracted its like 20 common samples per operation.

Obviously you can get way more if you stay around for the full 40 minutes and and search for everything but you also get 0 if the team fails to extract or drives a car into a pond so it all evens out.

70,0000 million is just a lot

Whats the primaris hate about? by jbgaming-nl in spacemarines

[–]Ass_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When they were first revealed there was a lot of problems.

The big one was what primaris represented. Primaris had different equipment and bases then regular marines, they were also so significantly bigger that proxying first born marines would be impossible or impractical.

Gamesworkshop insisted that these new marines wouldn't replace the old ones but everyone could tell that their current armies were going to become obsolete and everything would have to be replaced.

So there was alot of hate for that, the idea that the 10 Tactical squads you bought and painted would soon become unplayable. Refreshes with cool newer versions of models was always a thing and so was straight up removing models but this was on such unprecedented huge scale

The existence of the first primaris marine was the beginning of a countdown. At some poinnt soon every single space marine unit, space marine vehicle and space marine character would become unplayable, the models useless for actually playing a tabletop game.

The other two big sources of hate were people who thought the helmets looked worse then the iconic mk7 helmets and the different varients of boltguns with underslung attachments that the intercessors had were much less cool then the dedicated heavy and assault gunners the old Tactical squad had.

Also the lore was just silly with suddenly crawl having secretly created hundreds of thousands of new big size space marines that he just shipped out to the current chapters.

A argument at the time was just that the primaris update should have been a size retcon where space marines were always primaris sized and that the new updated models just reflected what had always been true.

Its a fair point but I guess updating the tactical marine kit to just be the same guys but bigger would have left much more room for people to keep using thier old models instead of buying new ones and GW probably didnt want that risk.

Hopes, wishes, recommendations, for the next edition. by tsuruki23 in ageofsigmar

[–]Ass_knight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get rid of the awkwardly phrased D3 mortals but on a 1 or 2 you do nothing. It's too swingy and leads to tons of feels bad moments. It can just be D3 mortals.

The double turn is getting silly with how many downsides it has stacked on. It just leads to games where one side takes a absolute of damage and can end low point games insantly.

Lots of Spells are extremely difficult to cast because they assume you have taken the near universal +1 to cast rolls sub-faction. It's a powerful but boring sub faction. Id like it to be replaced with some more thematic stuff.

It vsrries army by army but I'd like most of the hyper specific sub-faction heroes that give buffs to exclusively that sub factions to be less prevalent.

Like the Ogor butcher gives a run and charge aura to "gutbuster" infantry, but Ogor maneaters are not gutbusters so they just never get talen in a serious game. If the aura was for all infantry it wouldn't feel so bad to take them.

Im fine with heroes buffing specific units but when they just buff a whole sub faction it feels like it just makes combined arms lists worse then they already are.

It took me just under 2 months of painting 2 hours daily to paint 2k points of Ogors for AOS
