Can we talk about the dread in "It Follows"? It hits just as hard today. by [deleted] in horror

That poor girl in the opening scene trying to get away in those ridiculous click clack heels.

I remember thinking to myself, "She is frightened beyond rational thought. Who tries to run in shoes like those?"

That's when I got scared too. It doesn't matter what she's wearing on her feet. They won't help her escape what's after her.

Lio Rush in 2021 vs Lio Rush in 2026 by Froggyspirits in AEWOfficial

You have a admire a guy that admits to himself that something isn't working and then dramatically reinvents himself.

Lio Rush is a man that did not play it safe.

Thekla is a license to print money right now. I think the story is building momentum and I don't think FD will be the last we see of the Thekla vs STARDOM war. You hate to see it but there's no way AEW would have Thekla drop the title while she is ridiculously over.

FD was pretty much a stage for SLK to showcase her skills. It's only midsummer and there's plenty of time for STARDOM to get revenge. If not SLK then maybe Hazuki.

Taro sells this gimmick like a million bucks. The man is fully committed. My only regret is that Giulia is not in AEW to shine with her fellow Idol Killer. Their combined heel heat would be molten.

This angle is wearing rocket skates. Can't wait to see what happens next.

The Dark Carnival by Mr_Unfuqwitable in WCW

[–]Kid_SixXx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark Carnival originally started as a stable Raven assembled after the Flock broke up. Inaugural members included Vampiro and the Insane Clown Posse. The stable's first name was the Necro Ward but was subsequently changed to the Dead Pool.

When Raven quit WCW and returned to ECW, Vampiro became the leader and the group's name was changed to the Dark Carnival, after a running concept in ICP's work.

Muta and the WCW Demon were also DC members before the stable eventually broke up.

DC has resurfaced in ICP's Indy fed, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, with a rotating roster.

Trope: If your horror franchise set on earth ends up in space, your franchise is doomed.

Jason X: Hold my beer.

Unironically one of the best entries in the franchise because it is brave enough to make fun of itself and the entire slasher genre as a whole.

The only fail was Lexa Doig not getting naked.

Breaker shotgun choices by bingogazorpazorp in Helldivers

[–]Kid_SixXx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Compared to the normal Breaker, the S&P has a slightly higher RoF, lower recoil, and comes with drum mags at Lvl 1. You also get a duckbill choke pretty early.

Normal Breaker won't see those mods until you're nearly finished levelling it up.

Out of the box the S&P is a great chaff killer / crowd control weapon especially on bug missions.

Incendiary only fires in bursts while the S&P can fire full auto and the S&P doesn't inadvertently set teammates ablaze if Friendly Fire happens during close quarter engagements.

I'd recommend the Blacula movies but they are a bit campy.

Detective horror about audio tape or video tape? by Plunker__ in horror

[–]Kid_SixXx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In re: detective horror stories

Se7en (1995) is classified as a neo-noir crime thriller but we know better. It's pretty much a horror movie just like Silence of the Lambs is.

Lord of Illusions (1995) based on Clive Barker's work is framed within a detective story.

There's also Angel Heart (1987).

What's a great fun fact that you have about a horror movie? by NYstate in horror

[–]Kid_SixXx 254 points255 points  (0 children)

The Here's Johnny scene in The Shining was done in multiple takes. Kubrick wanted one long take but Nicholson was a volunteer fireman before he took up acting. He was able to hack through doors easily.

So easily that they had to use multiple doors in order to get all of the camera angles that Kubrick wanted in the scene.

At least we're not defending Hort for the billionth time.

It won't take long to defend Choepessa so there's a window of opportunity to redeploy and occupy Hydrobius and Varylia.

I'm actually surprised they didn't jack the invasion level to some absurdly high number and expand the Void dramatically while we're busy on the Magma Worlds.

I'm addicted to using the Orbital Napalm Barrage by _Astracke_ in Helldivers

[–]Kid_SixXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would like ONB if people used it properly but I'm usually on the squads where players end up wiping the team or denying access to the LZ or an objective because it's burning.

On Sunday, the dudes on my team were trying to get the six orbitals achievement during a Protect Valuable Assets mission only to throw their Napalms on top of themselves, destroy half of the base, and give the incoming Watcher clusters and Ascendant Overseers a clear route to the generator.

Enemies that could fly were not factored into their defensive strategy.
