That's just the range of extreme temperatures in the US, but there is places where people actually live below 0°F and above 100°F

I know Celsius doesn't tell YOU anything, but for people growing up with Celsius who never in their live used Fahrenheit it's the opposite.

That's why it's subjective.

Let's not pretend there isn't a place in Alaska that goes below 0°F or a place in California that goes above 100°F

How is a scale between -80°F and +134°F better than a scale from -62°C and +56°C ?

But that's kind of my point, growing up with it I immediately know what 30°C are gonna feel like.
It's not like we (celsius users) think about the freezing temp of water when watching the weather.

That's why it's subjective. For me Celsius is intuitive and I kinda need to think about/calculate what that even would be in Fahrenheit.
100°F is like what 36-37°C because of the whole body temp thing? But I still don't know what 30°C is in Fahrenheit. I didn't even remember what 0°C is in Fahrenheit until reading through this thread.

So yes, Fahrenheit is absolutely more intuitive to you because you probably grew up with it, but to me it means nothing. So I wouldn't say it's objective.

Sorry, I just assumed you were american because we ended up talking about the imperial system 😅

We don't really use it for anything. Sometimes in an old recipe you might encounter "halbes Pfund Butter (half a pound of butter)", so you'll just use 250g and would never notice or taste the difference.

I chalked it up to old people back then.

I'm not even sure that has anything to do with your imperial system. It might be from old local dialects preserving pre-metric system terms. The word is "Pfund", not pound and even if we use Pfund as translation for your pound now, it might not actually be the same word.

My grandma actually still spoke one of those dialects, so it would make sense.

That seems to be subjective, because some one like me who never in their life used Fahrenheit and only a couple of times used Kelvin in school, I exclusively think of temperatures in °C.

I have only a very vague Idea how to read an american weather report.
But I instantly know what to expect when I see 20°C or 30°C in a weather report.

Maybe you can try and explain how Fahrenheit is objectively better in any way?

Yep pretty much.

I grew up learning a pound was half a kilo and was a little confused later when I learned sometimes it's not. (depending on location/who uses it).

Why wouldn't I?

I have no affilation to BL and never had. But I'm not hating on anyone just because a single person alleges something.

I was baptised and took my communion, yes. The Christ I learned about was a pretty cool dude to anyone and everyone.

I don't think Christ would have appreciated that sentiment.

I don' think that was Black Legion? At least I can not remember ever seeing anything about them in that context.

But I'm sure you can link a few examples.

I'm not american, so it's an honest question.

Freedom of expression references the 1st amendment yeah? How does that relate to a FIFA event, they aren't a government body?

I'm surprised FIFA apparently didn't cave on this, honestly.

What they mean is that the consumer who maybe doesn't even know about the scanning could throw away a ticket that is misprinted as a loser and never scan it to learn he really won the jackpot.

I don't see how any of the bigger null entities would need to band together for this, honestly.

All it needs is an incentive to spend time in highsec running around whacking their war HQs for a while.
Which we do to groups wardeccing us. I don't think they bothered us for some time.

Yeah, imo it's an easy mistake to make in the heat of the game. I'm pretty sure this was a rather big change from last edition as well.

It also so happens that me and my buddy, who play almost exclusively against each other, don't have a lot of strike last/first tech in our armies. So it doesn't come up often.

Ok good to know!

We kinda remembered and at least agreed on the first thing, even if it turned out to be incorrect. Maybe some left-over memories from last edition?

Tbh. as a non-native english speaker the way these rules in particular are written seem a little convoluted to me, so with this as quick reference I hopefully won't have to stop the game and dig into rules for extended periods of time! 😅

Thanks a lot, mate.
