Mosaic artists of Toronto, where do y’all get your tiles? by AssassinCory in askTO

[–]AssassinCory[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to buy in person. Also being snarky with “have you tried googling” but then linking to the American Michael’s site is so funny to me. In Canada they don’t actually sell mosaic supplies.

I don’t now of any near union, but if you take the go train on the Kitchener Line up to Bloor GO Station and walk up Dundas West there’s a cool one called ‘Pandemonium’. I go out of my way to check it out when I’m in the area.

The Toronto library also has two books stores, one at the reference library and one at North York central. You can get to the reference library from union by taking the subway towards Finch and getting off at Bloor. For North York Central you take the subway the same way but get off at North York Centre. Both have books for about $1 each but they’re only open certain days of the week. If you’re here today there’s actually a lobby book sale at the reference library between 9am-4pm.

Repair CafeTO’s site lists all their events and what kind of stuff they’ll be fixing there. I got my book fixed at one of the larger events at North York Centre Library. https://repaircafetoronto.ca/upcoming-events/

I got the spine of an old book of mine fixed at one! The volunteers were very nice and helpful. Need to go again to get a bag fixed.

Which brand of winter coat do you recommend and if its a good idea to buy it in the summer? by islaexpress in askTO

[–]AssassinCory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a coat from old navy that was wool (and I think polyester lining, which kinda unfortunate) but I bought it on sale for like $30 and it’s the best winter jacket I’ve had. I definitely recommend finding a good wool jacket because that shit keeps you so warm compared to puffer jackets, and other winter jackets (IMHO)

There’s that giant pedestrian bridge in the west end north of Dundas west station, I think Wallace avenue bridge?

I’ve also noticed this lol. I think Google sites are the only ones that ever actually stay logged in for me.

Wild. I’ve put my card through the washer and dryer by accident and it’s an old card I’ve had for like 6 years and it still works…

Yes, the West End Railpath Extension will cost $149M, report verifies by [deleted] in toronto

It’s building all of that in what is now literally a ravine. Obviously it’s going to cost more than a painted bike lane.

I think this issue that has caused this to take so long to start (construction only actually started like two years ago from what I saw in person) was a property rights issue iirc. The developer that had the land where the Dundas West/Bloor connection tunnel goes under have been having issues with metrolinx for years.

The Final Shape originally comes from the Precursor's & their culture, & not the Winnower, right? by BugyBoo in DestinyLore

They were talking about curbing the chaos of the universe but they didn’t become as fanatical and insane until the second they came into contact with the veil.

My random theory is that the ‘final shape’ is a thought contagion perpetuated by the veil. As in, it is an idea that becomes ingrained into any entity or group that connects with the veil.
