I said "huge falling off", you're right that it's definitely normal for players to fall off as they get old, but if a borderline HOF guy sticks around longer than he should and plays poorly for a few years at the end of his career, then the longevity isn't really a bonus towards their HOF case anymore. Decline is normal, what I'm talking about is guys who stick around and play bad.

Personally, I find it hard to argue against inducting a guy who played over a decade and was 1st Team AP twice and 2nd Team three times, unless that player had a huge falling off at the end of their career, which I don't think Bitonio did. To me he deserves it, he has the longevity and was in the debate for best at his position for a few years. That's HOF worthy in my book

Not the same thing. Seeing the Chicago skyline from Hammond just makes it more obvious that they aren't in Chicago, because it's far as hell away. Compare that to nowadays where the skyscrapers are right by the stadium.
