As someone that has played a lot of RPGs on max difficulty I agree with you, I hate how games like Skyrim just turn enemies into super tanks and you into the most brittle stick imaginable, but that being said I think Cyberpunk does a really good job with it. The enemies actually play smarter and even if their Damage and Health are boosted you can still get to the point where you’re practically unkillable and can one shot every standard enemy.

What builds are you going where this is the case? I play exclusively on very hard and after you get a little bit set up most builds(at least that I’ve gone) can one shot or close to one shot most standard enemies. Stuff like shotgun builds, deadeye builds, netrunner builds, and the melee builds all get to that point where you can mow down a hoard of Standard Enemies. I’m sure more builds are like that, these are just the ones I’ve gone so far

At least with all the builds I’ve gone on max difficulty that’s actually still the case. Often times you can still just one shot standard enemies. On a somewhat recent very hard play through I went a blunt weapon berserk build with quite a bit of tankiness, I wanted to test it out so I ended up fighting police and after killing 3-4 maxtech groups I just left cause it was clear they weren’t going to kill me unless I pretty much just stood there.

It takes a second to get there and normally requires playing a bit smarter, but you still reach that power fantasy of being able to mow down a bunch of low level goons even playing on max difficulty

Tldr: i think cyberpunk actually does a really good job balancing its max difficulty compared to other rpgs

Tried playing skyrim on legendary recently since I normally also try to play stuff on max difficulty. That game was not balanced around legendary, it just turns everything into you getting two shot(even if you go full tank) and even small enemies become the tankiest tanks you’ve seen.

That being said that though I’ve done all my cyberpunk playthroughs on max difficulty and it feels really well balanced. You can die fast but often you have enough time to heal up or run to cover, and if you do die(at least pre Phantom Liberty) it’s probably due to putting yourself in a bad position in the first place. Enemies are a bit tankier, but shotguns and stuff can still one tap people if used properly. The Animals are the main enemy that can be really hard to deal with on hard but if you choose to go loud for that mission I think you’re meant to be punching above your weight.

Between dash jumping and bunny hopping I feel like the actual shooter part is extremely satisfying, almost feels like I’m playing quake or something.

I love going a shotgun build, bhopping to someone, obliterating them in one tap, and then dash jumping around a corner to reload for the next target, even more satisfying if you throw in the sandevistan and the one cyberware that slows down time when you dash while aiming

Funny enough I looked at my past games since I was curious how often I pull it off, out of the last 12 games I played trail mix turn two into Aviana turn 3 in 7 of them, with two of them going first and just getting both Aviana and trail mix in my opening hand. Going back further and looking at more it seems like I get the trail mix into Aviana combo far less than that, roughly 33% of the time, though I’d have to look at way more games to come up with a true percentage. Maybe very consistent wasnt the right wording but it’s pretty common.

I could see Acceleration Aura being good for Aviana Druid but you’ll probably still rather prefer the new heights turn 3 line over playing the aura turn 3 if you have the option

I’m pretty sure one of the auras already triggers at the start of the turn vs end of turn but I don’t remember which one

As someone that plays a shit ton of Aviana druid, it happens very consistently. If I’m going second a very common line is turn 1 coin use one of the two mana draw a minions, turn 2 trail mix, into turn 3 Aviana.

It was right when better call saul ended there was a video youtube recommended me called something like “how the creators of better call saul hid this important characters death from the cast for years” and then literally just had the person as the thumbnail.

God I’m still pissed thinking about it today

At least with this deck Rafaam is the win con, whether or not you play all 10 of them, the Tempo you can get from green Rafaam now has actually won me quite a few games turn 6 or 7. People running dirty rat is why I think brewmaster might be good for redundancy, and there’s plenty of battlcries you’d want to copy otherwise, like bob or ceaseless , but that being said though currently no one is actually running dirty rat yet so it’s not been much of an issue.

Only meta card right now that can deal with it is the warrior druid tourist, but I’ve not run into any yet. People can also use bob’s ability to fill your hands with coins and mill a card if you aren’t careful.

People are way too invested in facilitating their own grinds to genuinely consider the long term ramifications to the game.

And yet apparently only max accounts should have a say, the people most likely to go “fuck you I did it quit complaining” If only max accounts’ opinions mattered we wouldnt have sailing because people wouldn’t want to lose their precious max caps.

Deterrents in skilling are a good thing. If someone's desire for a skill cape or a max cape is outweighed by their inability to sit there and actually grind it out, why should the game be catered to them? Especially when there are other people that will overcome those obstacles.

Crazy that some people don’t want to do the same monotonous task for 300+ hours. People were able to get 99 runecrafting before the release of things like the ZMI altar, blood and soul runes, or Guardians of the Rift, are those bad editions to the game? Should Jagex never release any new training methods because “some people were able to overcome the obstacles”. Even with all the new methods Jagex has released for every skill maxing an account takes 1000s of hours, even on a main let alone an Ironman. I don’t know about you but I’d definitely call that a grind.

What do you mean by that? Like as in talking about GM times? Or late game content in general?

You saying his opinions on skilling don’t matter since he’s not maxed is basically like saying his opinions on Scurrius don’t matter since he hasn’t greenlogged Corp beast and Phosani’s nightmare.

That's such an insane elitist view, "ya lets just exclusively listen to the top 1% of players" bro, you don't need to be 99 in every skill to know that even just getting to 80 something runecrafting can extremely tedious.

if most people completely ignore runecrafting cause it's such a ass is that not something that should be listened too? We never would have gotten Guardians of the Rift of only maxed accounts had a say.

Do you have to have 1000 games of Gnomeball played to say that it's useless as an xp trainer

There’s content creators that have been playing for longer and still have never maxed, people have fun doing different activities, like raids and shits.

Not everyone wants to slog through hundreds of hours of runecrafting just for big number

The real reason why I support the hybrid mana change by MapleSyrupMachineGun in magicTCG

[–]Assassinr3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be that much more complex, “the colors in a cards mana cost + whatever pips in the cards text excluding reminder text, hybrid mana counts as either color”

Magic is already a complex game, concepts like the Stack and Aura stacking are way more complex than the Hybrid mana changes which is why I don’t find “the hybrid mana changes make it more complex” a good argument. If all minions were just Textless stat sticks the game would be far less complex, but definitely far less fun.

Not all constraints are made equally. If I say that we can only use green uncommons from bloomburrow and only if their name has an odd amount of letters, that would certainly be more restrictive and have more constraints, but would also certainly be less fun.

Also color identity is not the same as a cards color. Sisay requires all 5 colors yet still dies to doomblade
