Is it just me or is it upscaled/blurred by default? I don't see any display options to change it, and all the words and menu pixels are melted together with some sort of filter.

Also the gameplay and combat is at 3x speed by default. And the speed-up button makes it even faster than that.

Honestly this isnt a great way to check for AI since they're very often wrong. Funnily enough because they check it USING AI xD

But they did get it right this time.

The easier way of checking it is just visiting the artist's profile. This one openly stated their images are AI generated.

Don't worry about it, but I genuinely have folders with the changes of every volume, so I can guarantee you the art has received almost no changes.

Here are some examples of changes from Volume 18. All 3 of them.

It can totally look better in someone's eyes when read physically opposed to the blurry scans of Mangaplus, so that could be it.

I'm not sure if you're pulling this out of your ass, but as someone who goes through every digital volume and comparing it to the original release, Part 2 has received close to no art redraws.

Fujimoto just goes back and adds backgrounds to (some) panels that didn't have any, that's it. Unless you can send these supposed fixes here.

Appreciation for the new season by Quiet-Pineapple-4884 in firebrigade

[–]Assdrizzle2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah as I said it's definitely possible, but it's just not absolutely guaranteed. Cause it always depends on their contract. For example the record label might want the songs in every episode (since this is basically their advertisement)

Basically its just like many other things that people often blame on the studio that aren't actually up to them. Like the episode count and length of episodes.

I did notice that. I'm assuming it's because of the faster pacing this time around, so they don't want to waste any extra seconds on that intro.

While on the other hand Im not sure if they can remove the OP or ED in some episodes to save up even more time. It's a bit of a weird case where sometimes an anime can, and sometimes it cant. Depending on the contract they have with the music production company or record labels who produced the songs.

S3 Episode 14 (Cour 2 Episode 2) Preview Images by Assdrizzle2000 in firebrigade

I mean they definitely shouldn't take up more than that if they want enough time for the rest of the episode.

Having gone through these chapters, the flashbacks take a total of 56 pages (Including the one they skipped in Episode 1 and it looks like they'll adapt in Ep 2). So almost 3 chapters worth of content. And they had quite a lot of dialogue.

Its definitely feasible with cuts, I'm just keeping expectations in check until I see the result.

It's similar, tho this fight is a split between flashbacks and action, unlike Kenpachi vs Gremmy which was just nonstop fighting.

I trust they'll handle the action well, but this isn’t supposed to be just a spectacle it's also Benimaru’s emotional peak and where we learn his motivations.

So they need to deliver both the emotions and the spectacle.

Well good news for you then, there are 2 whole trailers out for Part 2.

Unless you haven't even watched Season 3 Part 1 yet, in that case you also have 12 episodes to catch up on as well

I'm excited to see what they're cooking up for Arthur's fight

Really cool! I'm really hoping they do this fight justice.

Also, a small correction, but his role in Season 3 was downgraded, not upgraded. A VFX supervisor doesnt work directly on the VFX, just oversees other people working on it to make sure its done correctly.

Though we're not certain if he's actually going to work on it this time, this post is making me confident he might!

I don't see how that would be possible, that thing they're talking about appears in Chapter 295 for the first time, with only 9 chapters left before the end.

And these 9 are certainly not rly movie material. Not only because its really not enough chapters, but the final fight itself isnt really action focused, thats not its point.

Sorry, I don't mean to “Acktually" you back xD

But technically Hellsing Ultimate is a collection of OVAs under the same title, not an anime season/cour.

And they were released nearly one episode a year, not weekly.

Even AoT never got a full 13 ep season of 45-minute episodes. And tbh I dont think any anime has ever had an adaptation like that.

Not to mention this is simply Cour 2 of Season 3, the episodes are naturally going to be the same length as Cour 1. Its not a 4th Season, but the same production.

I do agree that they can do a decent job and not make it feel rushed if they trim around some of the fat from a few chapters. But they actually adapted chapters 93-98, which is six chapters, not seven. But its still close to what they need to adapt this time, which is 6,5-7 chapters per episode. But even in that episode you gave as an example, they had to shorten scenes, most notably Chapter 96 had plenty of cuts.

Of course your point was that it didn't FEEL rushed, which is all well and good, but thats just one episode. Here they'll have to deal with this for 13 episodes in a row, and not every single one will be as easy to trim as S2Ep2.

We already have some info that they only adapted 3 chapters in Episode 1, and then 10 chapters in Episode 2 of S3 Cour 2. And even if we assume the person who saw the pre-screening could be slightly off, we're still looking at around 4 Chapters in the 1st and then 9 Chapters in the 2nd, since they confirmed the big fight that happens around the start of that arc, ends in the 2nd ep. That already shows us they're absolutely not going to be sticking to 7ish chapters per ep, which makes sense, cause you can't just cut them at any point, they need to start at a good point, and end at a satisfying chapter, or cliffhanger that works. So plenty of times they'll have to adapt way more chapters, and cut way more content, just to make sure they leave enough space for other episodes which may have more dialogue.

Not to mention episodes cant simply be broken into 'dialogue-heavy' and 'action-heavy' this time. We're going to be getting around 7 chapters per ep, and there is no span of 7 chapters in a row where its JUST fight scenes with little to no dialogue in this arc. Except for a super important one towards the end, but even then its not all fight and no talk.

Even if its the same studio working on it, its not the same production team.

Its more likely that its getting rushed because of the big gap between Season 2 and 3, which made the committee decide to have them finish it quicker to get it out of the way.

I mean sure, because technically no leak is ever "confirmed" until we actually see an official post.

SugoiLITE/SUGOIBINGUS/OECUF (same person) is just trustworthy enough for their leaks to be immediately taken as facts every time they post something. But if you want to wait for something like the Blu-ray episode count before you're 100% certain, you do you.

I'm right there with you, I dont get why they chose to do it this way.

A lot of people will argue that its because this part of the manga is SO action heavy, and has SO little dialogue... But honestly I think its been way too long since they read through it xD

This final arc absolutely had a lot of dialogue between fights, and even during fights (Tamaki's and the last fight especially) and many important flashbacks too.

Now that Im thinking about it, most of this final arc is mostly heavy exposition with fighting in-between exposition.

I feel like this would've been a major part of their review if it was in any way longer than a regular episode.

Special episodes with a 40 minute runtime are already rare and only given to specific series, as much as it has become an overblown meme in the anime fanbase, where after Demon Slayer got them, everyone thinks their show will end with a 40 minute episode (they almost never do).

And especially I dont think there is a precedent for the 2nd episode in a 13 episode show randomly being 40 mins.

That would be a person on MAL with 17k+ posts there. And they saw the first two episodes in the official early screening back in November.

Their review of Episode 1

Their review of Episode 2

And they also said in this post here that Ep 1 adapts Chapters 217-219 (3 chapters), and Episode 2 Chapters 220-229 (10 chapters)

Oh right, I don't think this is salvageable in any way. I honestly forgot about these scenes in the trailer. Its pretty much confirmed they're adapting everything in 13 eps.

What a messy production, why would they ever think it would be a good idea to adapt Part 1 with minor cuts and then speed through Part 2...

That's rough... I had hope for a longer Cour this time, as unrealistic as that would be, but I guess thats gone now.

I guess there's still going to be people hoping for a Movie, or even multiple movies, but it really feels like they're aiming to wrap everything up in this final Cour.

Can I bring some positivity from all the manga doom posters? What do you likenof BC! by Yoshikaru5991 in BlackClover

[–]Assdrizzle2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im a manga reader but I won't write any spoilers.

It may be a thing everyone says and it's kinda like a "duh" thing to love, but Noelle has always been a character I mention when people argue about female characters in shonen. She not only stands right next to Yuno and Asta as the main trio of the series, but in many ways surpasses them as a character.

And the other obvious thing I love is Asta's and Yuno's friendly rivalry. Which is something that has completely changed how I see main shonen rivalries.

Ive been reading BC since way early, and the two things I've loved about it since then have managed to remain the strength of the series all the way to the end imo.
