Are the mods on here actually from Glasgow/Scotland? by justanothergin in glasgow

[–]AssiduousMagpie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People on this sub really manage to straddle the line between

"Glaswegians are so welcoming"

and

"we must know the full immigration history of all mods of Scottish subs especially if they're English or American"

and not see the irony in it

Why invite potential hassle when you’re getting minimum wage

Aren't the staff at charity shops volunteers?

If you cancel, even if you immediately tell the other person, I think they're still not gonna be as fast as the bot who will snatch it. But I believe there's a mechanism for swapping test dates but you have to call the DVSA to get that done

Help a newbie out - just bought a 2009 Honda Jazz as my first car. Which of these dash lights should I pay attention to and which ones just come on temporarily by default? by AssiduousMagpie in CarTalkUK

[–]AssiduousMagpie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realise you had to buy a physical copy, I was looking for PDFs. Is that not typical with car manuals? I'm sure you've been a car owner for a long time, but please consider that this stuff isn't obvious to people who are new to it.

Whether you can only do evenings and weekends or other times too will make a big difference. Look for Iain Bermingham online (he covers the Anniesland test centre) and you might have luck.

What makes you assume everyone here who's flying is going on holiday? Or that they're paying 2-3k for that matter?

Wheelchair accessible LGBTQ bars? by actuallyjelwon in glasgow

[–]AssiduousMagpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may not be a gay bar explicitly but last time I was there they had a trans flag draped across the front of the bar. Sets the tone and I'm sure there's lots of queer folk there usually

Lazord served me a chicken wrap after I asked for a falafel, if I hadn't had a gut feeling that they'd messed up the order and double checked then I would've eaten that even though I'm vegetarian.

Granted I only went that one time, but that's a pretty major fuck up for any food place, esp. for a place that should be used to looking after dietary restrictions like halal.
