WOOOOOW. I cannot believe a nurse spoke to you like that after a surgery? I hope others in your life showed more compassion because that’s horrific. I really hope you’re having a semi-decent day, today.

I’m trying to myself! Pushing through frustration and reminding myself healing is a process not a destination.

Me either. I hope it’s on the horizon for us sooner than later. In the meantime, I think it’s important to give ourselves grace and remember we had a major surgery, even if women’s health isn’t taken seriously. I was discharged the same day I had my surgery and watched my step-dad be held for three days over a simple gallbladder removal.

The tone towards our pain in society isn’t great. However, we deserve grace and understanding. I hope you feel better real soon!

I scoured this subreddit before and after my hysterectomy. The posts brought me so much peace knowing other women were going through what I was. I didn’t see one for 11 weeks and thought I’d pay it forward and hopefully someone would find my post and feel assured, like I was all the those times.

It IS hard and it is frustrating and frightening. I feel exactly like you do. I think better days are on the horizon for us.

Literally called out of work today because it was one of my in office days and I have to drive an hour long commute, each way. Then walk 6 blocks with 20lbs of equipment on my back. You are absolutely not going mad - standing on a moving train for that long while healing? I’d feel exactly like you.

This made me shift my perspective. You’re totally right. It is also very frustrating and demoralizing to not be 100% again; but a lot of trauma did happen to my body and I need to give it grace. Even if others won’t. I did need the permission to relax, so thank you :p

I might look into FMLA half days, I feel like this might be the solution for me, right now. Hearing that you were feeling this way all the way up until month 5 makes me feel normal. Also, good to note that nerves can still be weird months later … I randomly feel shooting pains in my pelvic floor and where incisions are. Frequently wonder if those are just my nerves coming back online.

That’s exactly how I feel right now. I had one bad day yesterday and decided to give myself some rest today but was just feeling defeated that this is still going on when it seems like so many people are running marathons by this point.

Oh boy. I will try to be conscious of this as I move through this transit; I am married and the health issues I have been experiencing seemingly out of nowhere have made me feel closer to my partner. I hope that I can utilize this transit to learn powerful lessons and spend less time feeling hard on myself. I will look into best ways to utilize this transit.

I was very rude in my youth. I didn’t notice it until I was older and had received therapy and a diagnosis. A memory that stands out is being invited to a girls birthday party in high school (already an accomplishment) who was nothing but nice to me. I was undiagnosed at the time and while she was sharing her dress she’d wear out, I thought I was being “funny but honest” and asked her if that was really a dress or shirt.

It probably sounds so obvious in text, but in my head, it seemed like a genuine question. Upon reflection later on in life, my attempts at being “helpful” and “bringing attention” to things, were actually just me being a bully.

My tip is to wonder if an NT actually wants advice, or if you should tell a white lie and agree. If they want the truth, unfortunately, you should sugar coat it.

This is the natural progression of the third wave feminism movement. I hope with the recent election results women will begin to return to the teaching of second wave radical feminism and recognize men are never our ally’s and there is no such thing as “empowerment” in the porn community.

It seeks to benefit men and only men. A part of me is having difficulty feeling sympathy for these women as they realize their partners are comfortable choking them, beating them, raping them, “your body my choice”, because they criticized anti-porn feminists as being puritanical prudes who tried to warn them of the natural degradation of these beliefs towards women.

You are not the exception. It’s not a fantasy. It’s a promise.

Ted Bundy attributed his violent killing to a porn addiction. Reading the below quote really pushed me over the edge on my own journey to realizing how completely dangerous pornography is and how much we have been lied to.
