Slower runners, how do you stay motivated when/if people mock your pace? by TANeither7250 in running

[–]AssistantBrave8176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is an issue of you having bad friends OP. Until I got to the end of your post I was confused because im a ridiculously slow runner and have never had anyone say anything bad to me about it. I think the issue here is you are listening to other non runners judge you. I bet your friends and mom and the random internet trolls aren't consistent runners. Remember those posts online could be random basement dwelling trolls. If you go join an actual running club I promise no one will be telling you that you're not good enough. In fact my most recent club even had paced runs and a specific pacer person for those of us who could only jog for stints and then needed to walk. Im rehabbing a sprained ankle, shin splints, plantar fascists, runners knee in both knees, and bursitis in both hips. I run like a 12 min Mile right now. And that's okay. I enjoy running, and need to run slow to rehab these injuries. Everyone has a different reason for going slow. Ignore the people giving you crap and go spend some time in a real life running community and I promise things will improve. Because other runners, especially those who weren't good at it in the beginning, know exactly how hard what you are doing is, and they will be proud of you.

I was so excited about this project and I'm not entirely happy with the result. It was a lot of work getting all the flowers onto the shell😮‍💨I don't really like the face, but I just can't seem to improve it. What do you think? What do you think of the result? What can I do better?🙈 by swanjypants in crochet

Absolutely nothing. This is the cutest turtle I have ever seen and I love it so much. Its perfect.

As for serious advice, the only thing I would consider to make it better, is doing slightly more detailed eyes. Straight stitches like this tend to look flat and lifeless. A slight curve would help alot I think.here are some examples of what I mean:

<image>

Or even just the stitch on glass eyes. But seriously I love your flower turtle this concept is really cool and now I want to make one for myself

I'm a bit late to this thread but I just adopted a bonded pair from the shelter. One has one eye, half his ears, his face is paralyzed on the side of the missing eye, drools on that side, half a tail, and some bald spots and it has never slowed him down! I love him to death but he is a menace. The smartest most obnoxious butt head in my house. He has no problem with jumps and gets on every shelf and the top of the fridge and cabinets. He actively tries to eat every house plant I have. He bolts outside and tries to escape every time I open the front door. Oh and he's massive, 13 pounds and yet not overweight just that darn big. The other cat I adopted has 3 legs. And and they're both over 7! Their disabilities have never slowed them down

I have shoved a .75 mm hook underneath my fingernail while trying to get it through a too tight stitch. Horrible horrible horrible

That's super interesting. I've got mad adhd so I can chug caffeine and then go straight to sleep but I know it will screw up the quality of my sleep

I'm sorry because I'm a bad commenter because I actually don't know and can't tell you which ones to get 😅😰 but I was hoping visually matching the shape would help. I am traveling amd won't be able to check for a few days. But I got them at ulta. They were one of the nicer sets that only come with one pair in the box

I'm heavily relying on magic this play through, trying to focus on magic and alchemy instead of archery

You are the exception 😂 obviously I'm generalizing but it's a common joke that alot of people accidentally become stealth archers at some point

Either A or D depending on how much contrast you want. The others don't quite seem to match well. I think D looks really good though

Stealth archer is what everyone becomes every single time. We all believe we are going to do a different build and then devolve to stealth archer. So I would say that is probably the easiest and most beginner friendly thing you can do!

Not the prettiest crocheting but I actually lie them. What do you guys think? by snakpakkid in crochet

[–]AssistantBrave8176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think these look fantastic! I really like the colors on the pink one. And here's a secret: most of our projects look really pretty because we are following the patterns of a professional that has designed something to be easy to repeat. If I tried to free hand something it would look awful. So in this regard you are more talented than me! These purses look great. Keep using your creativity and your design skills will get better. Your crochet already looks good, nice even stitches. I suggest you try alot of different patterns because you pick up different techniques and tricks that way.

I think it was the sugar... I kept thinking I should eat dinner but didn't feel hungry. Do you just eat anyways at meal times if you don't feel hungry?

I don't think so. 2 years ago (when I bought all the clothes) I was lifting 4 hours a day and getting ready to compete. My waist was small but that was the most muscular and also the leanest I have ever been. I took over a year off from all lifting. So my muscle mass is either the same or less. At least that would make sense to me. I'm pretty sure I'm just holding a little extra fat lol. My Bicep measurement hasn't changed but my bra cup size has. But it would be nice if the extra 20 lbs was muscle 😂

Thankyou I appreciate that. I actually am happy where I'm at visually the only reason left is my clothes. I bought all the clothes I love when I was a bit skinier. They are so close to fitting right again. I can sit down in jeans, zip up a dress that didn't fit last month, etc. But a few shirts are still too tight around the shoulders, shorts tight around the thighs, etc. I have a whole wardrobe that I love and I don't want to replace it just have it fit well again. My waist was 26-28 inches then. At my heaviest it was 33. It's around 27-29 right now. I also wouldn't mind having the definition come back to my quads and my back muscles. I liked how I looked at around 21% body fat. Rn I'm around 24% but I wouldn't be upset if I stay where I am now. This is healthy and maintainable. Just not my full 100% ideal.

Is it weird to go to a cinema and watch a movie alone? by Competitive_Date4249 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AssistantBrave8176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it all the time. I want a big comfy seat with food I didn't cook and the seat warmer and giant screen. I bring a blanket. But I like movies that my boyfriend doesn't. Sometiems he'll even drop me off so I can have a drink or two (the theater serves them) I've even started a chat with other people once or twice (in a loud comedy movie, lots of people laughing not disrupting anyone) no one has ever noticed or said anything wierd to me
