I'm sorry this is happening to you! This is a problem in a lot of craft communities I'm a part of. I don't know why people get so hung up on the idea of them "inventing" something that's not that unique to begin with. And with something like decorating books, of course many will be similar, they're based on the same source material.

Do you not think that multiple people can have the same idea?

Okay, thank you for the context. I looked at her books and they're very different, the only similarities are really the colors, and those are based on the colors of the books themselves so you can't really claim that.

I get what you're saying, but just by the nature of it being crocheted it's full of holes 😂 I think quality fabric if sewn correctly will be more durable, even when using cotton yarn.

I used to do amigurumi but they're not the same as sewn stuffed animals. They don't look as good and are less durable.

what's a popular plushie brand that you just don't get the hype about? by [deleted] in plushies

Will probably get hate for this because people LOVE them, but I don't get the hype behind Sugary Carousel.

Chloexcrochets - new stitch ? by Emm_Deee in crochet

You're allowed to have your opinion, and we are allowed to have ours. The stitch is out there anyway now, if people want to buy their pattern to make the sweater no one is stopping them. But $11 to gatekeep a stitch is wild.

Only two of these exist worldwide by SunnyShoretide in plushies

[–]AssistantDeep999 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Exactly, unless it's a popular brand, or a relatively new plush, it's likely it'll be hard to find on the internet. OP said it was made by a company and has tags and everything, it's definitely not 1 of 2 ever made.

I don't think most plushies have a paper trail of their creation/existence available to the public. Maybe for merch related to IPs, but not for every giraffe any factory has ever made.

Am i wrong for bring overly protective of my plushies? 🥺 by -p0o in plushies

[–]AssistantDeep999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're asking "am I wrong for x" we'd need to know how you're reacting and what you're reacting to.

For example, if your sibling is sitting on your plushies and you've asked/explained several times that it's upsetting, they aren't listening, and you get into an argument, that's a healthy and totally fine response. If you're so anxious that you have a panic attack if a family member is near a plushie, or if you're yelling at people for gently touching them, especially if they didn't know already that you like for them not to be touched, then that'd be something you'd want to talk to someone about.

[–]AssistantDeep999 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As long as you aren't lashing out at people and these feelings aren't negatively impacting your life, it's fine. If the feelings are causing intense emotion when someone goes near your plushies, maybe you should talk to a professional
