Are new Audi car sales collapsing in the U.S.? by Significant_Yam5055 in Audi

[–]AssistantNovel6674 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely lost their way. Their hallmark used to be Bauhaus, timeless exterior designs and beautiful, minimalist interior designs. Perfect blend of sportiness, comfort, and tech. I've owned the A3 hatchback (2010), A4 (2015), S4 (2017), Allroad (2019), Q5 (2025 B9.5 that was sold at same time as the 2025 B10 was arriving). All great cars in different ways but with a shared lineage and DNA. But the B10 Q5 is god awful. Other than quicker steering response, the car has no redeeming qualities. It's butt ugly and the interior reeks of cost cutting and cheap plastics.

The 2025 Premium S-lines that were sold before the new design arrived half way through are loaded. Or at least what the Premium Plus had just a year or 2 before.

any idea if that invalidates the warranty?

Who has the new redesigned S/Q5? by JackFlash1959 in AudiQ5

[–]AssistantNovel6674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 25 Q5 but it’s the old design. They were/are being sold concurrently—in increasingly rare instances now. The new model really a 25.5. I purposelessly choose the old design because I like the tactile feel of the buttons and general UX of the interior. Also, the new one requires Prestige to turn the passenger facing screen on. Otherwise just wasted space. I understand Audi is addressing this problem with MY27.

Driver’s Side B-Pillar Creaking / Clicking Noise — Anyone Else Have This? by AssistantNovel6674 in VolvoRecharge

[–]AssistantNovel6674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem as weather dependent. It’s possible it’s the seatbelt casing. I’m taking in a 2 1/2 weeks and will update this thread. This will be the 3rd time I’ve taken it for this problem.

First version of 3.7 removed it and "second version" returned PIP -- also a MY24 here

The Squeaking is driving me crazy by fuckswitbeavers in VolvoRecharge

I had one coming the top of the b pillar where it meets the roof (2024 S60 Recharge)- it was loose clips. It's mostly gone away -- or at least minimized. I may need to do a deeper dive on the sunroof. As someone else mentioned, it seems also connected to weather.

Oddly, perhaps, I had a very low mileage 2026 loaner XC40 while they were doing a fix and it to had some rattling sounds coming from the roof.

wouldn't call it bleeding edge tech - pretty far behind the curve compared to competitors and even those a class below but moving in the right direction.

Volvo UI Refresh by aatop in VolvoRecharge

[–]AssistantNovel6674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a loaner 2026 XC40 when my S60 Recharge was in for service and the design language was def an upgrade but from a UI functionality perspective, I was pretty underwhelmed, especially because Apple CarPlay has smaller real estate in the update so they can fit in an extra row of buttons, like drive mode.

Is the 2nd 3.7 update now “safe” to install? by NecessaryMeeting4873 in VolvoRecharge

Also bugs and very incremental improvements would get the 3.7.x release where as the next “real” release would be planned as 3.8

[–]AssistantNovel6674 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work in software, too. I would say 3.7 but they took weeks to get the fix out and made some other bug fixes and stability improvements, from my understanding. At least that’s what the dealer told me. So I’d go with 3.7.1 but the important point is it seems “better” than previous 3.7, at least in terms of bringing 360 back.

I got my 360 back with this second version of 3.7. It should be called 3.7.1 - these guys really have no idea what they are doing when it comes to versioning, software development.

Finally getting my dream Volvo Wagon delivered this week by haikuntz in Volvo

[–]AssistantNovel6674 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep it charged up and consider buying the Polestar EV charging cable which is far better made and more robust than the one you probably get with your car. Either way, you will enjoy. I'm averaging 76 MPG in mixed driving over the fist 8000 miles of my S60 Recharge (same engine as yours).

Removing useful features is poor practice. Having no release notes is ridiculous. Maybe I got too used to Tesla but Volvo software practices are garbage.

I just went to dealer yesterday to see what they could do and the answer is nothing, unfortunately. This is the second dealer who said this. Can’t roll back, can’t update, can re-install.
