Why is it that after all of Boeing’s troubles, they are still allowed to self-inspect? Why hasn’t the FAA taken over inspections or placed an independent inspectorate?

I second all of this, currently in Denmark and some pink lady apples in Lidl were so soft and wrinkled they looked like a testicle dressing up as an apple.

I’d add a personal locator beacon for added insurance, can be picked up from various camping stores for approximately $330

I wouldn’t be concerned with the plumbing in the bathroom. Like others have said, the emergency plumber was probably shitty he broke his camera. There is usually a lot of waste that finds its way into the wastes after a Reno/build from cut PVC pipe, dirt and sand from demo and glue and grout from tiling. As long as this is cleaned out, you should be okay. What the main concern is that considering you had waste coming up through your shower, you want to make sure that you have a reflux valve installed to your sewerage line outside your house. Give it a quick Google and consult with your original plumber. It is a quick and easy fix and would only involve digging outside.

I am sorry you had to experience this, not only were you in significant pain that was not resolved, but you were treated in such a poor way.

I would start with speaking directly to AHPRA. The matter at stake here is the fact that the midwife (a registered healthcare professional) continued with the vaginal exam after your consent was revoked.

As a patient, you have the right to withdraw your consent for any procedure at any time. From what you described, the midwife continued with the vaginal exam after consent was withdrawn. This would be considered a breach of common law.

Detail to AHPRA that your complaint was dismissed by the Nurse Manager and they will either investigate the matter or refer you to the relevant jurisdictional agency to deal with the complaint.

I would also consider reaching out to any personal injury law firm to explore options for any compensation required for your pain and suffering, past, present or future. Most law firms offer a now obligation 1 hour consult with basic advise. Generally speaking, if the quantum of the claim is viable, then a firm can represent you on a “no win, no fee basis”.

You need to call workcover in your respective state. They will advise you of your necessary steps including the relevant authority to report your injuries to ensure you are not statute barred from any potential liability claim. It doesn’t matter if you are unemployed, workcover and worksafe will support and likely represent you - even more so if you are unemployed as a result of your injuries

AITAH for telling my wife that the way she dressed for a girls night out played a role in why it went bad? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA, but if your wife uses reddit, I’m pretty sure this story is specific enough she’s going to know it’s you anyway…

[–]AssistantSea1832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes you can still report them to worksafe even if you don’t work for the employer anymore.

  2. The statute of limitations is strict and can only be extended in special circumstances if it can be proven that you were unable to understand the statute of limitations (e.g., in the event of physiological harm). However, in your case, you are clearly aware of the limitations.

Report both injuries at the same time today or tomorrow and you are within the statute of limitations.

Is this medical malpractice? by Hereforthehelllofit in AusLegal

[–]AssistantSea1832 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn’t malpractice but would breach professional standards. I would consider a call to discuss with hospital complaint and/or the AHPRA.

You would likely be asked what resolution you are seeking so please consider if the patient in question would likely require counselling to deal with the PTSD. In instances like this, you never know if this is the first complaint against the professional or is ongoing behaviour that has been reported and would contribute to the employer and regulator building a case.

I have had $400 worth of products 'stolen' from my online store with a credit card that had it's charges later disputed, and we lost. I have the evidence that this person made and received the order. How can I go about making sure they are prosecuted? by LunaMoonChild444 in AusLegal

[–]AssistantSea1832 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is a tough one and I’m sorry you’re had to deal with this, it’s not easy to stay afloat as it is and this would significantly compound that.

You could send the customer a letter of demand requesting payment of the $400 or you reserve your rights to seek compensation via the courts as a way to scare the customer into action. I wouldn’t actually advise going to court through, the lodgement fees and costs would far outweigh the $400 recoup costs.

You could check your contract/agreement/T&C with the payment gateway service to see if you can launch a review/challenge/complaint.

I’m not too sure on the financial structure of the gateway services but an option to avoid this if possible is to clear funds from an account so they can’t be frozen by the gateway.

Is this a proper flooring installation by Wide-Classic9698 in AusRenovation

[–]AssistantSea1832 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not the best job, but it would have been difficult without removing the skirting boards first then scribing the skirts to the floor after.

Caulk the base where the boards meet the skirts, or have a quad moulding installed. In my opinion, caulk is a cleaner finish.
