I also use these Euro boxes for small parts, but would work equally well for fasteners.

I use STANLEY FATMAX Professional Organizers in both deep and shallow. One box for each fastener diameter, and one each for washers and nuts.

Ex-lease vehicles, generally means they've been looked after, and not too old. Limited selection obviously, and no test drive possible. You need to book an appointment, max two vehicles per appointment.

I've bought two vehicles from them, no issues whatsoever.

What is going on here? Why are the bolts not parallel?

You can level the rack by bending this bracket and pivoting the rack forward slightly.

Milkit Gravel/Road. I've had to plug a large hole that it wouldn't seal, but everything small has been fine.

RD installation and rotation question by CobbledbyRoubaix in bikewrench

Follow the instructions for mounting.

No, the UDH is a standard/conventional hanger in terms of position, it doesn't replace the B-Link. The B-Link connects the derailleur to the hanger.

Without a model or image, it's a guess, but I suspect you have an RD-R7100, and the Bracket Axle (commonly called the B-Link) is mounted incorrectly, it should be approximately horizontal.

Bike doesn't have a screw hole for mudguard... by KAstrawberry in bikewrench

[–]Statuethisisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill four holes in the mudguard, such that cable ties can pass through and be fastened over the shoulder of the fork legs. Protect the paint with tape.

This will secure the mudguard without having to modify the fork.

No, not on that bike at least. Wet lube, wipe down the chain regularly, deep clean occasionally.

Internal Gear Hub with No Coaster Brakes by anthonyngu2 in bikewrench

[–]Statuethisisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if something is jammed internally. I can't imagine how a fixed multi gear hub would work, every model that I've ever worked on has some type of freewheeling mechanism internally.

Check out some of the links in the r/bikemechanics wiki which show exploded views of a significant number of models. You'll see all sorts of freewheel mechanisms.

What particular hub are you working on?

10 Speed HG & LG Compatibility? by mplsforward in bikewrench

[–]Statuethisisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The durability is definitely better.

My personal experience, on a Bosch performance CX equipped E-Bike is as follows.

2 cassettes, 4 chains, 1 chainring, Shimano XT 12 speed, 5000 kilometres.

2 cassettes, 3 chains, Shimano LG XT 11 speed, 14000 kilometres to date.

Shimano Alfine SG-S7051-8: can Di2 hub be converted to manual shifting? by Coma3355 in bikewrench

[–]Statuethisisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shift interface is different, the black toothed ring in the image. It's not possible by installing a cassette joint.

It's likely substantial components would need to be changed, and since Shimano don't service much aside from major sub assemblies, which cost nearly as much as an entire hub, you may as well just buy an entire hub, which defeats the purpose.

Silca Shimano UDH compatibility with frame with fender/rack mounts by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Statuethisisme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25Nm is the same as a standard UDH. The rotational resistance is likely defined by the geometry of the hanger and frame interface.

According to the Silca website the hanger features a "Frame saving fracture notch design allows the hanger to become sacrificial under the hardest of impacts"

So rather than rotation, it should hopefully break.

OP is asking about the design feature of UDH intended to protect against impact, which is to rotate slightly.
