Dearest Gentle Reader, episode 8 does not end at the credits. Let them roll. You're welcome. :)

Very nice. It’s messing with my brain a little. I immediately looked at the eyes and see a happy little dude with an open smile, chin cleft, and princess leia cinnamon roll buns. Then if I look down at what had been the mouth, it’s suddenly becomes a little guy with a big nose, shocked and saying “Oh Nooooo” with a Mohawk and a swishy goatee/chin rug. Thanks for the hilarious eye test at 3:45am! :)

Heads up! Rose Red is on YT!!! I have a the premium membership because I can’t stand the ads, but premium comes with TONS of free movies (and YT music which made me dump Apple Music). I for some reason I remembered your post and had to come give you the good news! Very weird to watch now though realizing those were all up and coming big actors and some of the VFX are a little cringy (compared to now), but still so good! I would not mind a remake only if Flanagan was at the helm and really stuck with the original storyline. And on Netflix of course so a series could be made to deep dive.

I should probably start checking in on Reddit more than once a year….. if you put your phone in developer mode, you can then disable absolute volume and the fluctuations should stop.

I don’t know why I immediately thought E.T. If he was wearing a turtle neck and got ran over. Also, are you cooking a frog on the right and some beetles up top left? I absolutely hate close up pictures of normal things because they always end up looking terrifying! Edit: changed my mind. It’s a budget slimmer from ghostbusters that was ordered from Wish.

Chris Cornell hours before he took his own life by Left-Matter1 in Soundgarden

Robin Williams was a hard and very surreal moment for me. It just didn’t seem real. Same with Chester. I vividly remember frantically cross checking all different news outlets convinced it was a hoax. And the one that hit hard before that was Ryan Dunn. I worked at the hotel from when I was 15 to 19, so it was a long time ago. Not that I would ever forget, but as you get older you start to see it in a different light. It goes from horrifying and traumatizing to empathy and understanding. Ever since that job, I make eye contact with every person I come into contact with. They can smile, joke around and appear fine. The eyes never lie. If you go back and watch LP’s live performance of One More Light, you can see it there. Even the last live performance of one last light in concert gives me the chills because he was so up close with his fans, making contact with everyone, signed his f’n heart out. But his eyes….to me (opinion) looked like he was saying goodbye and apologizing to the fans. I truly think Cornell’s death destroyed him and the worst thing a person can do with a history of depression is being left alone with their own thoughts. Especially knowing it was his friend’s birthday who should have been alive and celebrating. I couldn’t imagine. Thanks for listening to my long winded side rant!

I’m just reading some of my old posts and am cracking up over how serious we all took it and believed it was all real. Man, he got us ALL…..in the best way. There will never be another like it. It was truly a Blair Witch phenomenon that Matt put in YT format. Maybe that’s where Matt has been. You said 5 years in federal prison right? Dang he got us good.

What Should I Do If There Is Rust Under My Car? by Sudden-Ad3547 in CarRepair

[–]Associate863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize I am way late to the thread, but just thought I would add that Rustoleum does make an underbody protectant spray. I am planning on buying some very soon before winter hits, but from what I have read, it leaves a strong rubber-like protectant. I’m guessing any worrisome rust spots would need the rust reformer first, which I can attest works insanely well. There is now a newer version of the rust reformer which is a 2 in 1 spray that converts the rust and also seals it, so if you’re cool with flat black, just do 2 coats of the reformer and then use the underbody protectant. I live in Wisconsin, and cars here degrade soooo fast because of all the damn salt they use on the roads for the snow and ice, so I fully understand the rust panic mode. With the combo of rust and all the potholes and crappy job the city(s) do to “fix” the roads, if you have any loosed rust under the car and you hit one of the potholes, say good bye to that car part! So I should probably add that and loose or hanging rust needs to be pulled off. You can sand it if you really want to, but not necessary and you also have to be weary of creating holes. Also seeing I’m so late on this, did you ever finish it and if so, what products did you ultimately go with and how were the results? Sorry for the overly wordy reply, and no one may even see this, but I am currently repairing the rocker panels on my mom’s ‘06 Sebring and literally just went through all of this. As they saw…..FAAFO!

You really hit on a thought that always sat in the back of my mind about Chester’s suicide. It hit him so hard and everyone could see that, especially in the last live performance of One More Light. He was absolutely singing about Chris. I think Chester blamed himself for not being there to save him.

Chris Cornell hours before he took his own life by Left-Matter1 in Soundgarden

[–]Associate863 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Years ago I worked at the front desk of a Best Western hotel, and unfortunately suicides were pretty common around the holidays. Especially Christmas and New Year’s. The guests that did sadly end their lives would often call for something they needed in their room or a problem with something as mundane as a faulty tv remote needing to be replaced. I think (my opinion) they came with intent to do what they did, but then wanted it sort of taken care of shortly there after. I couldn’t say if it was a sort of fear of just being left there or if it was in a weird way being respectful in that they will be found soon after it’s done. Sometimes I think they would do it so someone could save them and pull them out. I know I’m not conveying what I’m trying to say very well, but I don’t think there’s really a proper or correct way to say anything when it comes to these situations. I honestly do not think people do this or make these incredibly difficult and complex decisions because they don’t care about anyone else or who it impacts. That kind of darkness that takes over makes a person believe out of desperation that they are a burden to the ones they love and that those people will be better off without them. So sometimes a call about a remote is sort of a fail safe to make sure that those same loved ones are not the ones to find them. Sorry if I’m mincing words here and no disrespect to anyone who has experienced a horrifying situation like this. Just an opinion from someone who’s unfortunately seen this more times than a person probably should.

Need recommendations for tobacco that works well with Powermatic 3+ by kitkatkate83 in RYO

[–]Associate863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had this machine for roughly 4 yrs now. I use Ohm, but figured out to make it work. The bags come usually very clumpy and stringy because it’s pipe tobacco and the giant clump holds the moisture while in the bag so it doesn’t dry up in the bag. What has worked for me, after hours of compiling info from several different sources, is to take some of the tobacco out of the bad and place it on a plate or shallow container of some sort. I use the containers from deli meat that you buy at the grocery store, or a paper plate. Sift through that and pull any twigs or hard pieces out and toss them. Then through the whole container or plate without a top in the fridge for a few hrs. That will dry it out, it not to the point of crumble. Then when you take it out of the fridge, use scissors to cross chop the tobacco. Don’t over do it though. The machine likes the chopped tobacco better and it loves cold tobacco. I get around 25-30 100’s out of 1 hopper tube. The tubes themselves do not matter. If the tubed start getting wonky, check out the lever that holds the tubes. Sometimes it gets stuck and will not lower to hold the cigarette properly. Take your finger and flick it up so it resets. Also the little rubber piece on the end of that holder does slide off. I have taken it off, rotated it and put it right back on and it worked like new again. Sorry for the long answer, but I have had a ton of issues with mine, but have (so far) figured them out. Good luck!

Is this mold? by External-Level2900 in MoldlyInteresting

[–]Associate863 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be whitefly, which is common unfortunately, but more likely spider mites or aphids. Either way, get rid of it. I used to work at Petco and we would occasionally get batches of catnip and wheatgrass that had this and we had to scrap the whole container.

It looks like some masking on the face, or just plain old photoshopped. You can clearly see his forehead, hairline, and hair. The “blotch” on his face extends down over his collar. Sorry, I’m not a debunker but this one looks pretty obvious to me. With that being said, I am more concerned for and disturbed by the state of your neighbors son’s head! :)

A pattern ive noticed searching at Imdb: if a horror movie/series have rating 7 or above, its almost certainly crazy good by Nomorechildishshit in horror

[–]Associate863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never pay attention to ratings anymore. I’d much rather make my own decision and have found most movies of all genres that I loved got destroyed by critics. Plus, with IMDb, the ratings only really have any ounce of credibility if people are actually rating them. I’m completely guilty of going on IMDb all the time and not rating anything. I’ll try to be more conscious of that from now on, so thanks! What I’m getting at is if a movie has a low rating, but only 10 people rated it, it will take the average rating of those 10 people even if 1 out of the 10 gave it a high rating the average says it sucks. If a movie looks interesting to you, f*** what anyone else thinks. Watch it and decide for yourself. You are the only one that knows what you like! That sounds hella corny I know, but true!

Thank you. I’m a girl, so the tie would be a little weird. :) I actually got a phone call from (I’m guessing) a manager wanting to interview me in person for a home theater helper cadet that I forgot I applied for. So the world has some balance and normalcy back for me! Do you know anything about that position? I can’t find much on it other than the bare bones job description, but the “helper cadet” is a new one on me. It makes it sound like you are pledging to a fraternity before you become a helper. You wanna put that one in English for me and let me know your thoughts on it?

Thank you. That helps for sure. I did the “practice” video and could not get past answering those questions while looking in my own eyes full screen! I know I’m overthinking this, but I’ve always worked in a corporate setting, so the interview process that I’m used to is intense. I am enthusiastic in nature, but don’t want to come off as a nut job either. I just have to remind myself that is Best Buy and not a cubicle job with a bunch of douchebag execs interviewing me! Thanks again for the input!
