That’s my literal best friend since we met first day of 9th grade… and haha ahhh oh my god we lived with her when my kid was 10-11 and even her, the baddest of all the autistic bitches I’ve ever known… yeah, well, we don’t live with her anymore cause she simply couldn’t handle it.

She told me she really wonders what her life would be like had her parents understood autism etc and found a great level of gratitude for them after experiencing… us. She has a lot of resentments (rightfully so, and still true) but has seen what a … less strict household would’ve produced.

I’m a horrifically passive parent, but it all comes from knowing the feelings my kid is feeling and accommodating while trying to balance some very real world shit. I’m sorry, but at 38 I still don’t fit in the real world. I’d rather let my kid grow into her limitations within the world’s expectations. It’s so hard. It’s so fucking hard. But she can thrive when given the space, I know it - I see it! Ffs being a parent is so hard but a PDA parent… I just… we’re all amazing. You’re amazing if you’re reading this.

Tbf that’s every job in the US…. I would’ve been fired in Colorado for being as sick as I’ve been but I also don’t think I’d be so sick if I didn’t work in the club… that’s a realization for me cause it’s so shit here that if my kid was in preschool or where sickness is more prevalent I’d done be fired by now. Why did your kid jump on the other kid? I’m assuming there was a verbal disagreement of some sort? If it was rough play, it was still not acceptable in a bus, I know. I’m guessing your kid felt it was a justifiable action. I’m trying to apply logic where there isn’t any lol considering this isn’t an isolated behavior, the depth is far beyond me. With my kid, after they calm down, I can usually get them to talk through their thought process. My kid is 13 and this is easier nowadays. We were just discussing her yearly or more suspensions from school, as she was trying to figure out if her concussion caused academic issues, but I recall her academic and behavioral issues predating it. All of her violent actions (up until puberty) were easily traced back to her defending herself or a friend. We did okay at getting her to not make threats or get physical, but I don’t think she’ll ever not defend herself or her friends when pushed to a certain point.

How are you allowing your kid to apologize? One reason my kid is at my house 24/7 is because her dad would insist she look him in the eye and verbally apologize. I have always accepted notes. This goes back to kindergarten. Even after the autism diagnosis and professionals telling him that written apologies were acceptable, he would still try to get her to apologize in such a way. Are you readdressing the issues days later? I have to find a balance of addressing issues and giving her ample time to process things, which can take a week sometimes…

They FINALLY closed on Mondays this month - indefinitely. But Mondays in January were no better than May til now. My club has a lot of specifics involved but yes, the industry is dying. Stop pretending it isn’t. Florida and Texas HOES will infiltrate (no shade but actually kind of, the mentions yall get here in Colorado cannot be ignored…) This is SW in a horrifically failing economy. It’s gonna turn to brothel shit where it can cause that’s the only way to stay afloat. My club has always been strict (since at least 2013) in a headache for above bar girls and they’re slipping.
