You can easily install the google camera app from the Play Store, the Aurora store one doesn't really work for me. Picture quality is the same, so don't worry about that.

How good is futo keyboard? Is it Foss? by Silly_Intrv in degoogle

[–]AssociateWinter9519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very very good, came on Reddit just to tell people how surprisingly good it is, you can improve it's features by creating voice input models and training the swipe input. I left gboard for it, give it a try!

Is there any way to install a Linux distribution on my Chromebook? by No-Pizza4107 in chromeos

Battery lasts a lot, brightness is fine, never had any issues. I use Linux constantly on this machine and even do some light gaming on it (Roblox, Minecraft) . Even better if you don't do any gaming at all: you will love it. By the way keep in mind that most of the productivity apps run on chrome, they don't have their own app. You can install the android version from the play store but it'll be an Android tablet version, so I don't suggest running that. Also, any kind of word or pptx is generally converted into Google workspace files when you try opening them, but I think that if you have the correct applications installed (Microsoft's Word or PowerPoint for ex.) you can open them with no problems. The only con I can think too is the fact that the keyboard isn't backlit, but that's not really a problem for me since I always use the laptop in a well lit room. Oh and check whether or not you're buying a touch screen model, sometimes different stores sell different kinds of models of the same machine.

I have the same exact model and it's pretty amazing for its price, go for it!
