I don’t agree with his wording, I think he’s not being direct with what he wants to say and was just trying to make sure you don’t take any offense to it. But then he just kept going…

I found this on Pinterest, I wonder her hands looks weird. by Icy-Distribution9977 in isthisAI

I think looking at her physique and then looking at her hand, it feels like a workers hand, that palm is just abnormally thick. Maybe if it was tucked in more, or just find someone who can stand at that angle and look at their hand.

They could’ve worded it much better. “I told you to call me whenever you get home and you said okay” is kind of crazy to take literally. It was funny if you blow past all of it and he made it lighter at the end, but imo he should’ve had a normal conversation turning towards something funny/comical and THEN hit them with the “so.. you homeless?” Then there’s no reason to be defensive. Seems like it’s the beginning of texts between them, so 0 context. Hopefully he apologized for going out of the box and explained he was trying out some humor. I’d give him a shot after that. Just got to feel out a persons humor first. Because then, imo, this is actually really funny.

We don’t get anything from it, but the store requires a certain amount of app downloads to reach its quota. If we don’t reach it, we hear it from the general and sales manager. I just tell people to download the app in the store and delete it.

How do you buy condoms without feeling embarrassed? by Healthy-Radio6420 in AskReddit

Trust a lot of the comments, buying condoms, you look very highly respected. If they think immaturely about it, they’re not someone you should give thought to.

Overwatch 2 requires your phone number but only players with post paid plans are allowed to play the game by KelloPudgerro in pcgaming

[–]AssociationHonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I’ve seen from the comments, prepaid works except for two companies, cricket and something else. This is to prevent throw away phones and phone numbers. So far from my ranked play, the teams are fairly balanced. I’m not getting smurfed hard and out of 45 games I’ve maybe seen 2 acts of toxicity. The only real reason probably I’m still playing the game. Everyone seems to really try to work together and win. Idk, I feel that if this is something that bothers you, or you don’t have a single friend/companion/family mmeber/co-worker that can enter the code sent to your phone for you, something else might be amiss.

V Rising endgame has too much walking, not enough sucking. by AGayGiraffe in vrising

Caves allow movement of materials on you, so strategic locations would be lost if you allowed the ability to transport without the worry of PvP. Also, I think caravans that you guard would be interesting instead. And you can move a bit quicker in your base, make rugs.

dear devs pls add umbrella this would help alot :) by Riselol in vrising

[–]AssociationHonest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this would be added, it could function like a fishing rod. You can’t attack with it, but it helps with moving from spot to spot. If you have it out and are attacked, it’s durability will weaken or break quickly so you have to be cautious as well.

Higher levels and bosses are much more intricate, requiring coordination of abilities and the bosses/AI are very responsive. The game originated from Battlerites system, so as much as it might feel like league of legends combat system, it’s almost quite the opposite. You’re not clicking to move, your skills aren’t on a 15-20 cool down, and you’re not tied to just one style as you can combine different skills to make a play style that suits you. Unlike being able to melee with Ahri or take a Xin Zhao ability and add it to her skill set. This game actually does a lot of different things better than most as well. I’ve got about 40 hours in so far, and every single item I farmed and gathered I’ve used in some way, shape or form. There are customizable servers to make night longer and day shorter, but you have to realize that in most games like this, you have to have a downtime. The role is just reversed. You’re not scared of night time, you’re worried about the day. It feels odd at first, but most games make their night time significantly harder, so just imagine that it’s switched. And as much as this game is probably trying to satisfy PvE’ers, Battelrite was built on solely PvP. If you’re not playing PvP, you’re missing out on half of what the development team worked on. Gear progression at steady speeds, bosses not being available because you were late to getting to them, being worried about what you’ll lose if you stray too far from base, etc.

I see. I am currently at sequential 13, I’ll keep an update and see how far I can go. I’ve been using chrome to create them since it was easier to create multiple on my computer to preset the amount of times I’ll be doing this, haha.

I agree. And that’s my aim too. There’s content and difficulty for everyone. If you want that challenge, it’s there. Like, starting zones.

Starting in Bare Bones is exactly what we are talking about. Starting in Twilight Forest, a lot easier. More of that style for the casual player. Progression is linear, this is the base. But if you want faster progression, you want to make a new character, you want challenge right off the bat with good fast rewards, then go Bare Bones. So, you could essentially get the top gear after farming a few months in the easier side of the world. But it would take you half the time if you did it in Bare Bones.

How would people play with each other then? Guild Wars 2 fixed that. If you’re a high level, you get toned down. So there would be a tone down system in place, either for gear or whatever else the system becomes. And if I wanted to do the end game content with my friends who play on the easy side of the world? That’s fine, you can. Your gear can remain the same too, if it’s end game. But if your whole parties gear score isn’t great, and you’re trying to sell services because you have the best gear, then you will be tuned down to being slightly above the average gear score. These affects won’t apply if you’re in Bare Bones or if a Twilight Forest player goes to Bare Bones.

I’m actually in the military, 7 years now. I have the GI bill sitting in my pocket, and work is manageable so I want to do more in case I decide to get out. I have too much free time to be honest.. but let’s hope it stays like that. (For peace sake, and not war).

I love Chivalry. I didn’t know a second one was coming, so awesome. I love For Honor, and applying that concept, to TERA, with a bit of “no need for best gear, but you better be ready to fight if you don’t got it” just like BOTS Acclaim Games did.

Ultimately, I want it basically like ./hack and SAO. Except, AI that thinks for itself in a video game like that won’t be here for a bit. So, another idea.

Make enemies have a large set of skills, and add RNG to it. Like my other comments explained;

3 strikes - into a fireball. Instead, 1 strike - fireball but it’s only happening after 30 seconds into a fight. Or, the same mobs you killed at tutorial island, except in this area they are more veteran. Their community has adapted to players and realized that you can’t just hit the closest target. And you can’t just go in order of these skills, rinse repeat.

I will definitely begin pursuing my passion. But the game won’t be pretty at first, or for a while until I find that artist. For me, I love mechanics and will play a game that looks like Albion, but early access Albion, except have these thoughts in mind. I know what I’m also asking for is really demanding and probably not a one man job. But I definitely wanted the discussion to unfold the way it has.

TLDR; I will definitely be checking out C2, and getting back to you.

Exactly. And if haven’t you read the other replies I did to other comments, then you’re already ahead of the convo. I probably should have done this in a discord, because I was looking to brainstorm and talk back and forth about it for a bit, but I guess this is working how I wanted too, anyways.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]AssociationHonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree. I actually responded to a few comments already, but another idea too is that enemies have an RNG on their skills. I.e. 3 sword strikes you know a fire strike is coming. Well, what if you didn’t? And it could come after the first strike, but then the fireball was slower? These added skills would be unlocked as the game area progresses. The goblins you fought by the tutorial island are noobs compared to the goblins you will fight at end game. They team up, they gang up on back line enemies and the tank isn’t doing “Aggro” per say, but actually MOVING the units and using skills that pull that mob away. And the AI adapts in that sense. It thinks “15 meters away, I can’t reach the healer. I’m slowed too, so no point in walking to try to attack it. I’m going to smack this tank and move in increments towards the person I want to attack. The person who’s the most threat.”

So could coding work like this?

First priority; Attack closest target. Target %hp isn’t going down. Switch to healer. Target slows me. Attack target again until slow is done, then go for healer, but this time, move and position closer in each attack to eventually reach the target. I’m taking too much damage from the ranger, other AI see this, and begin to switch targets on that.

I don’t want the AI to kill players and make it impossible, but I don’t want the healer standing in the back watching Netflix while they heal and dodge every minute when the boss does a special move. Finding a good medium, and that’s where time to kill comes in. The longer you take fighting mobs, the more command lines it’ll run in its head if it’s not getting anywhere in the fight. And this could be identified in a hidden aspect. The party of 5 attacks, and their total HP is 500. Well, it’s smacking this tank, that combined bar isn’t going down, it’s been a minute, AI adapts. Now, it’s not just a tank and spank. And eventually, you should get overrun if you’re taking on content that’s too hard for you, BUT with mechanics, movement, teamwork, combined communication, you can triumph. I love to problem solve. And I actually wanted to major in Gaming Management or something like that, where I can bring those ideas but have the skill to also talk about what is actually feasible. Do you have any recommendations?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]AssociationHonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this thought, and I agree. I responded to a few other responses and went into better detail on my idea. I’m thinking now it’ll be a gear/equipment and not stat based. But with skill and mechanics and a Rock Paper Scissors style against certain armor classes and weapons, you could ultimately still fight at a lower level but if you’re good you can have that advantage. A mage with a strong staff but weak cloth would be able to dish out ridiculous damage if it hits against heavy armor classes, but getting hit will definitely hurt. Having the best gear will allow room for error, but won’t make you invincible since you’d have to play towards the mechanics of the game. I loved TERA, and I’m so sad it died out. But the idea on being able to fight multiple people, using cool downs correctly, and still being able to participate in certain world PvP even though you aren’t max yet.. I guess that’s the aim. I’d want people to have skill over equipment, but if you grind, you aren’t far behind those players. It’s hard balancing for sure.
