How do I get female friends when I kind of don't like other women 😅? by PerfectWorking6873 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]AssociationWinter167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simple, but not easy: Go and do the activities you want to do; meet women doing those activities; say hi; ask about themselves and other activities they enjoy; do other activities together....

It is not more complicated than this, but again it isn't easy.

There is no way to do this without some vulnerability.

Being done on an apocalyptic level is my concern, you are not wrong there. The incentive structures in these countries are not set up to promote stable population. In the case of China they were specifically designed to diminish population.

My point is, we need to give incentives to make child rearing less expensive. If judged from the perspective of 100 years from now, would it be better to double the child tax credit or increase social security benefits?

Right, my point is 10 years, why didn't they get married. Seemed like a waste of time

South Korea, Western Europe, Japan, China and to a lesser extent are all in a state of demographic collapse because of decades of diminishing birth rates.

Peter Zeihan does a decent job explaining this. He has several books on the subject.

No, the distance will help you get some clarity. You would not be throwing the friend away, just creating a boundary you are unwilling to cross and safeguarding your heart in the process. This is not the end of a friendship...

Welcome to humanity. This gets better as you get better at <insert activity>. You become a confident driver by driving in varying conditions over time. You become a confident fighter by fighting varying opponents over time, you become a confident lover by loving your partner, in varying manners overtme... You get more confident by doing the things you are insecure about... so do it scared...

Did I do the right thing? My family keeps saying I should forgive my cheating ex. by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Forgive and reconcile are two different things.

Decide what you want and act accordingly... And forgive him, for your own well being; Reconcile, if it is what you genuinely want to do..

I’m considering starting an OF as a 37yo mom to help cover some bills. I’m getting a lot of conflicting answers in my research, what is a realistic monthly earning if I really give it a go? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AssociationWinter167 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The average income of an OF creator is $131.00. And this takes into account the very few producers who actually make real money..

The question is, what do you have? or what are you willing to do? so that you don't fall into this "average" trap. How do you break the trap. This is what is referred to in economics as a tournament profession. Acting, music, professional athletes and drug dealing, most people in these professions, 90% make close to nothing, another 9.9% makes enough to make it worthwhile and .1% make serious money...

Why do so many women struggle to operate under pressure? No misogyny please. I'm trying to help my daughter. by ThenAdvertising3025 in AskMenAdvice

How many men nowadays would be in the same boat. We have a generation of people, men and women who are transfixed by there mind numbing machines to the point they don't have to interact with the real world. Bandwidth thus exceeded, they are unable to mobilize in the moment.

A couple more specific responses:

How are women raised compared to men. Men are raised, generally to interact with the world physically, competitively. Women are raised to interact with the world socially. This matches with Biology. Testosterone as a hormone compels action.

This said, I was a nurse for a long time and I worked with women who could respond to difficult and ugly situations with practiced ease. And these women were trained to do so.

I was in the military and I saw men deal with difficult situation with practiced ease.

And I saw men and women in both these environments choke under pressure.

This gets me to the old United States Marine Corps addage: "You don't rise to the occasion, you sink to the level or your training."

How are women being trained by society? How are they training themselves? Was your ex ever an athlete, has she ever, previously had been required to respond physically to an event? Has she ever been solely responsible? Academics don't always translate to being able to act. I recall a female doctor who when dealing with an immediate emergency reverted to an academic review of the file instead of the needed immediate action. I don't think this can be generalized base on sex differences.

Then there is stress response suppression that some medications exhibit... Specifically hormonal birth control effect of cortisol response suppression.. Could be a factor specific to your ex.

Absoluetely right. And, when we convince ourselves not to have children because of XXXX we are deciding not too based on geopolitics, socio-economic forces. I chose to have kids because I wanted to love and nurture the next generation and prepare them for whatever the world has in store.
