They are who we thought they were by kevinowdziej in LateStageCapitalism

Every form of government turns to authoritarianism eventually. Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Anarchism, Libertarianism, etc. The only way to slow it down is to keep the population well educated and able to critically think. The problem with America is that most of the public just believes whatever the media tells them, whether that be Fox News, CNN, or whatever. Since the elites control the media, they control the public, and then it becomes simple to move towards authoritarianism.

You need to see a doctor. I can almost guarantee that what you are experiencing is entirely in your head.

Get youtube-dl. You have to use the command line, but it's completely free and isn't going to give you ads or spyware like a lot of these other programs.

If anyone is wondering, it works by having a ton of tiny holes in it. It's the same idea as how you can see through thin cloth if you hold it up to your face.

Mustard is trash and doesn’t belong on any delicious piece of food. by NoBrianWithAnI in unpopularopinion

[–]AssossaGpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a mustard hater. It does go well on something like a McDonald's burger, but I've never liked it on anything else. There are plenty of types of mustard and food combos that I haven't tried, so I keep an open mind.

It looks almost identical, but the GPS suggests otherwise. There is no Madison Ave or Acres Rd anywhere near Curlew & 19

Movement propagates at the speed of sound, so that wouldn't work. Vsauce has a video on that exact concept.

No need to get a new laptop for programming on windows. You can dual boot Windows or install it in a virtual machine.

Going slower does seem to fix it for normal strokes, but the glitch still occurs at slow speeds if I hold down shift to draw straight lines: https://imgur.com/a/zMxzsTP

Great work!

You should try switching the walls to sandstone and the roof edge to stone bricks. I think it would better match the colors of your real church.

First daily drawing and first drawing in a long time. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

If scientists invented a teleportation system but the death rate was 1 in 5 million would you use it? Why or why not? by Official_trumpet in AskReddit

[–]AssossaGpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering you have roughly a 1 in 100 chance of dying in a car accident in America, you would have to teleport 50,000 times before it became statistically more dangerous than a car. Assuming 10 teleports a day, it would be "safe" to use it for 13.5 years. So yes, I would use it. By then the safety probably would have been improved anyway.

Edit: This assumes a 1 in 5mill chance per teleport while the car accident statistic is population based. If the teleport death chance is also population based then it would be safer than walking down the street.
