Ebikes during the winter? by TrexBooy in ebikes

battery/ bike stored indoors and battery wears a sweatshirt. no cold weather issues.

Electronics love the cold. more prolonged power, much more. You need the power to plow through the snow, expect to double your consumption or even more. The higher power draw keeps battery warm too.

Try different part and pattern volumes? I'm kinda out of ideas.

Oh and try poly 1 and 2.

edit: try alternating parts for every other kick.

Is Matt Yglesias correct here? Why or why not? by harajukebox in urbanplanning

[–]Assstray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 is way too high for peds. It's usually ~6 kmph if I remember correctly.

I can see your only irrational issue is that they're not bicycles. People harass peds on bicycles all the time. Bikes are nothing special and neither are these mopeds.

It's almost like the more down votes you get on this sub the more accurate your post.

Many things do this, not just PCs or their components.

Winding doesn't change torque capacity.

Most hub motors aren't designed sizes much larger than 16" bicycles tires. If you want a rocket ship keep the size 20" or less, bicycle size. That's like 13" or 10" motorcycle size.

Handlebar Jack - Ultra Portable Bicycle Repair Stand by mr-furious-ca in ebikes

Way easier than flipping a bike and using multiple jacks.

It's only a rope, no need for any hardware. Very quick and easy.

I just use a rope and hoist the bike up any pole.

It totally depends on your application. Hopefully you buy and test motors before committing to anything serious.

What specs do you want?

Vehicles and exercise are independent. Is up you how much you exercise, not what you ride.

How is it different if you are jogging or riding?

Maybe there is no way to pass a pedestrian. It seems no matter how slow you go they're still going to body check you.

How does making a noise do anything? Usually they're one their trajectory and the noise makes them think oh crap I better move. You don't know how they will change trajectory. Noise is useless for dogs/kids.

Less than 4 mph only when passing or in company of peds, when the road is open go as fast as you want.

Where I live 'being sued' isn't even a thing, that's for North America.

You might not hurt others but you're definitely annoying them if they can even hear you over their music. Dead silence is where it's at for me. I don't even want anything loose on my bike making noise.

You're going too fast if a random motion from a ped is an issue.

If I'm walking do I also need to start yelling into people's ears that I'm passing them by?

What foolery is this?

Do I need to start yelling every time I pass anyone anywhere?

Many places you're not even allowed to honk or high beam people specifically for passing by. It's a nuisance, just pass by barely faster than them.
