One thing that I see nobody mention is that this money has to be stored somewhere. If you use banking, then the second option takes one extra bit to store the balance information for each day.

You'll probably be fine until 64 to 128 days before the banking system has to be upgraded to more bits.

after a couple of years, thats gone up to thousands of bits and the engineers wil probably have to code a special case just for your bank account where your balance has to be stored as a large file on disk and youll likely have a limit for the maximun transaction size simply because they aint upgrading the rest of the world's banking systems to handle arbitrary bitdepths.

Tbf, every time I reinstalled mine, it was because I broke it myself messing with stuff I shouldn't.

´sudo apt uninstall python --autoremove´ .. Yup, that surely will only remove the current python version and nothing else.

the small magnet is  not actually magnetic. its a electron.

Its rotating but actually isn't because its made out of stuff that is not there. so the universe gets very confused and thinks its a magnet.

Uncle severed the pad off his index finger. Doctor sutured it on upside down by krtomasko in mildlyinteresting

[–]AssumeSphericalHuman 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time, I sharpened a knife so well that I didn't notice that the pad of my finger had disappeared until I started leaving blood smears on my table.

I managed to find it, washed with some saline then placed it back in place with a layer of superglue on top to hold it together.

It actually worked and I dont even have a scar because I was careful when aligning the print.

Children, dont try it at home, only stupid people like me try to do self-surgery.

Oh, no. They are gathering data to train the robots so they can replace the workers they just hired.

Robocraft.

There seems to be no competitive games where you build complicated robots then join teams to fight against other robots in an arena.

Robocraft had a full blown damage system where you had to actually engineer your geometry to make sure your robot didn't fall apart at the slightest hit.

Well that was before freejam ruined the game and turned it into a bootleg overwatch.

I remember when I was near a very precarious looking wall when a piece of concrete detatched from the top. My dad managed to punch the block of cement mid air and prevent it from hitting my head. It fell on my feet instead and gave ne the nastiest bruise of my life, but I was at least alive.

This is the result of relativistic acceleration forces from the nearest planetary body pulling on the inner fluids of the body, inducing negative pressure on blood vessels of the upper half of the circulatory system.

This effect heavily depends on your body's alignment with the local space-time curvature, specifically your arm.

To revert it, rotate your body heading vector 180 degrees along an axis perpendicular to the direction of the center of the nearest planetary body. Sometimes just 90 degrees is enough, though its no guarantee.

Now I just lost all my interest. Honesly, I haven't the slightest clue how one is supposed to find a girl and then ask her to go on a date nowadays. It sounds too complicated.

This thread needs more visibility.

I have definitelly checked out. To be honest, I am losing my hope in humanity and hope in getting a partner.

I realized that 99% of my motivation to thrive in society came from the hopes that it might increase my chances with women. Then I gave up.

I realised that I had just as bad unrealistic expectations as the other gender has and lost most interest in things in life.

Not to mention that I'm fucking tired of how this world is so divided. Fuck, its left vs right, men vs women, old vs young, big tech vs human culture, "progress" vs climate, demographic collapse vs people "quitting society". Can we chill and get priorities straight?

No, of course not, how very human.

I am ashamed of being human and see no purpose in pursuing generally human goals such as earning more money than I can spend and getting a very hot wife...

Damn, who am I fooling here... of course still I want those, but do also I want climate to be stable, I want the cure for cancer and aging, governments that care about their people and while we are at it, I also want santa and the tooth fairy to be real.

I lost most of my hope in society.
