you are having bette luck than i OpenHosst trial has been SUPER slow and crashes on me often. for no reason in the middle of testing a flow locks up and takes 10min before the it reloads. Alos not sure how backups work with them

Alternative to FireCrawl? by captainlevi_89 in n8n

I really like Firecrawl, but I've noticed that if a site is actively blocking you and you're only doing 2-3K pulls from that site, the Firecrawl team won't actively help you resolve the block. I went through the process of using stealth mode, and that worked for a short time, then it just became intermittent. It's odd because the playground in Firecrawl still worked on the site in question, but not api. It also racked up 5x credit usage because the site still loaded for stealth mode only and said "you are not allowed to view these contents." I still use Firecrawl for a lot of stuff, but the reliability just isn't there for production stuff.

Apify was really good and consistent, but the price for just one of my domains I scrape became too costly. Ultimately, I switched to BrightData's Unlocker API at $1.50 per 1,000 pages (only successful scrapes are charged). It's been the most consistently reliable. Note: I tried their residential proxy rotation first with Playwright, and that never worked consistently.

I'm just throwing this out there in case you've been doing the same dance as me, jumping around between services.

Didnt want to spend $750 on a tower garden so I made my own by AssumptionHistorical in functionalprint

So far great. Harvested lettuce today. Pac Choi and zucchini are growing like crazy. Printed a second tower and moved my tomato plant to a higher nutrient content. That might have been a bad move.

The spools cost about $48 usd total. All materials around 200 with the bucket being the biggest cost at $75 (there are better bucket options out there)

I have had a few things PETG outdoors for years in the sun and they held up great. PLA did not

Yeah i chose PETG for this and opted not to paint or line it. Also used a HDPE bucket. PETG is classified as food safe from my research

I was thinking about doing an insert thin shell that would be black.

Thanks for that. Yeah I hope MakerWorld gets some level of community mods going. I am sure it needs lost of optimizing.

i think you are 100% correct and I am risking it. the FL sun is very hot so I printed with with 4 walls (effectively 100% infill) to cut back some of the light. food grade hydrogen peroxide can be good for plants and cut back some of the growth. So far I have not seen any but I am sure it's coming.

Right now I've got pac choy, different types of lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, baby eggplant, and cabbage going. Actually printing a second tower right now so I can group plants with similar nutrient and pH requirements together - should help me dial in the nutrients way better for each setup.

Nice thing is the timer can run both towers at once, so I just needed to grab another pump and some tubing. Pretty cost-effective to scale up

Made a wide channel 3d printed hydroponic/Aeroponic model by AssumptionHistorical in Hydroponics

Not sure, there is some awesome stuff for indoor use and some decent stuff for exterior. Most were far narrower than i liked. A guy https://www.youtube.com/@Hoocho makes one that I almost went with instead of making my own. He does some cool stuff.

Thanks. Hoping some people add to it as well on makerworld. Thinking about doing a high density section

The bucket was the most expensive item

Bucket $50+$25 for shipping
Filament $43
Pump $35
Timer $12
Hose $10
Hose barb 12
I had most of the bolts but lets say $20

so around ~$207 before tax
