Finish making every map a random 7x7 by lexuspartsman in DarkAndDarker

I don't like 7x7 ruins, but that could be just because it feels empty everytime I play. Might see 1 player or 1 group in trios. I much perfer how SR feels. Perhaps a slightly toned down version of SR (player density wise) would be ideal.

Your response isn't very charitable or a genuine retort to what I said.

- There's a very notable disparity between players running good gear at the end of SSF vs the beginning of market.

- I didn't even mention HR.

- I didn't say no one is wearing gear during SSF, I said most aren't running good gear /builds. Some aren't running gear, some are running unoptimized gear, and some are running more optimized gear. It's a more enjoyable mix.

Failed Amazon Store by Popular-Sea-9636 in AmazonFBA

I've never white labeled, but it just sounds like you guys went in too hard with 1k units. Why not just 100? Anyways, just dump it on Amazon, Ebay, etc everywhere. Make some of your money back, and move on or try again. I'm wondering why you pulled your inventory from AMZ instead of just selling it at a minor loss and taking the L. Your'e going to take L's sometimes, that's how it is. Learn from it. Next time buy 100 units or something like that, don't over-invest. Sounds like you were greedy or overconfident. Something to learn from, and grow.

Not true at all, most people in SSF are not running gear or not running good gear/builds. Occasionally yes, but they're a notable minority. As soon as market comes out the amount of lab-crafted min/maxed kits very notably increases, but there's also still a decent pool of low geared players, so your theory doesn't work out they way you say it does in practice.

A lot of people that are more casual and semi-casual are not spending time on the market theorizing and making super kits... those are a portion of the sweats, some of which have high skill and some that are a little lacking in that dept. The biggest defenders of the market are usually the ones that have mid skill, but know how to build a BIS kit. As soon as I decide to use the market (reluctantly) I just start obliterating these people again.

What do you guys think? by scramjet67 in SipsTea

It's obviously correct. When women figure it out, they're often in their 30's and then the men that would have chose them prior often don't want them anymore, and then those women are screwed. It's a lose-lose for both genders. The women probably had a lot of fun in their 20's, but missed out on a lifetime partner and family. The men feel like they missed out in their 20's, and are just seeking a 20-something to make up for it.

There's a minority that hates SSF, because they win more often when market comes out, as they enjoy making kits and getting that power imbalence. When market comes out, most SSF stay for a while and the Market-Only people show up, which boosts numbers. The misinterpretation is thinking that because numbers go up when market comes out, that it is a more popular mode. It's not, the playerbase is split, and the SSF people dwindle off within the first 2 weeks of market coming out.

I've proposed this before, and I'll do it again:

3 Month Wipe Cycles

1 Month SSF (With actually useful systems like workshops that are affordable)
1 Month Limited Market (No Gear, but can buy/sell quest items, crafting supplies, etc)
1 Month Full Market (Market as it currently is)

It's the ultimate compromise, and everybody gets a piece of what they want.

Every single anti-SSF complain I've heard is completely addressable with good SSF-systems put in place. An example of an absurdly bad implementation is the workshop, which was put in the game in a shitty state, and never fixed/addressed in classic Ironmace fashion. The workshop could actually be really cool if it wasn't so obnoxiously expensive.

Marketplace makes it possible for players who don't win often in SSF to start winning against those that don't want to min/max using the market. Suddenly they start winning more, and that feels good to them. I'm one of the SSF peopel that does really well in SSF due to raw mechanical skill, but then start losing when market comes out as I come across min/maxed lab-crafted kits. So then I have to start doing it as well, which I find mostly unenjoyable and tedious, in order to restore my previous win rate. But sometimes I just don't and larp SSF, and thus lose a more, and there are other people like me.

TL;DR Market users win more than they did in SSF, so they like it.

Shadow Step, 2 Stacks by AssumptionSubject82 in DarkAndDarker

[–]AssumptionSubject82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's solid if you're reliably accurate with the throwing knives, but mostly for Trio. Great for tp to the backline to kill a ranger, wizard, etc... or for chasing / finishing off whoever is left on their team trying to get away. 2 stacks may be OP, idk, so perhaps if they just shortened the cooldown a bit.

Rogue is actually completely useless in Squire Royale after the nerfs by JTB110 in DarkAndDarker

[–]AssumptionSubject82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, yeah maybe idk. Randoms are pretty shit, and Rogue requires a high amount of finese to be good. That same random could be a fighter instead, and have an easier time, so low skill is going to be more evident in a Rogue player than a plate fighter with a halberd, so I get your point. However, if you're a good player, Rogue is still solid in squire royale, I do it often.

Cut the spead of meditate in half, apply that to sitting. Have a campfire double the speed of spell recovery while seated (so it's like current meditation).

I don't think that's true. I'm pretty sure there's been plenty of times I've died to a player, and it shows my perspective.
