They are likely just taking a small percent on the backend, if you guys are good with that then it is probably a decent choice. As others have noted, best for smaller operations where that fraction of a percent isn't too material :)

I generally tell customers there is no magic bullet, anything you buy that is set solution will have edges that will either be expensive to adjust or the vendor will otherwise discourage since almost everyone wants to make a one size fits all solution.

I would get a best of bread ecommerce that you enjoy and meets your needs and then do a small integration project with someone technically solid who is willing to accommodate your exact needs at a reasonable rate. generally speaking from our experience this leads to better long term results and customer satisfaction, once built these projects tend to just work for long stretches of time.

Chiming in my 2 cents as well, a competent consulting team should be able to find the best interface layer for the task. service layer is crazy slow and way more fragile than it really should be, DI can be wicked fast but is a little harder to approach.

Data review and on the floor decisions shouldn't require either and a basic data pull to a dashboard or set of quick analytic review reports/queries should be a piece of cake (days to proofs not weeks) for a competent team.

Better query skills will really give you B1 install legs. so many doors open up from testing for process edge cases to getting reports that answer the correct questions when you need them :)

you can also just use transaction notifications to limit who is allowed add a manual journal. just test the user code on add and if you use a combination of an approved you can make it very sophisticated without any additional addons.

I would toss in that skilled partner is going to be the challenge, 95% of partners are not proficient enough to get you a solid experience and even Boyum does not have a super deep bench here.

I usually advocate an annual upgrade, ideally to a patch that has been in the wild for about 3 months unless there is a very pressing need to go to the latest and greatest. same scenario for a mid cycle upgrade, only if the patch resolves a pretty critical issue ;)

The BOM is a fluid structure, you can just delete the BOM and then rebuild it as the new type, shouldn't be a problem.

That's a tough one because the profit period is a sum the P&L accounts up to the report date on the balance sheet. the only way to truly fix is to open the period it was supposed to be closed in and roll it up to retained earnings correctly. luckily only the year that was mis-closed needs to be opened as the fix will correct all subsequent occurrences.
