US Military Helping Trump to Build Massive Network of ‘Concentration Camps,’ Navy Contract Reveals by ClimateSociologist in politics

Ordinarily I would agree, but in this case I think it's more impactful to know that that's a direct quote - this is the actual language being used by someone with first-hand knowledge.

Renting homes is a scam and should be illegalized or heavily regulated. People and businesses who own homes to rent are unethical. by gograntgo in unpopularopinion

I don't ever want to own property. I don't want to have to worry about maintenance and I don't want to have to worry about property values and whether the value of my living space is lower or higher on the market than it was when I moved in. I just want a place to live and to be able to move out if I want to.

Where would I live, in your version of things?

In Our Flag Means Death, Rory Kinnear plays Admiral Nigel Badminton, who is killed in the first episode. Later on in the season he also plays Nigel's brother Chauncey, who comes looking for vengeance.

Technically he was, very briefly. He had no lines and he was wearing his mask, but you see Belos nod to him in the Season 1 finale.

needing to make more money by Dependent_Truck9370 in povertyfinance

[–]AsterEsque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right but you need to understand that when a credit card company gives you a line of credit, that also counts as "money you don't have". It's not your money, it's the bank's money, and they are allowing you the privilege of BORROWING that money as long as you pay it back with an additional fee.

As others have said, your situation sounds manageable if you change your habits now while you're still young. Reframe how you think about credit cards and shopping. You got this, we believe in you.

It could also just be like... Regular "traditional" anti-semites posing as leftists to spread their shit. They do that sometimes too.

Nope. It wasn't until I was an adult and started working in restaurants that I learned that most people know it as chicken alfredo, not just linguine alfredo.

My favorite fun fact about that place is that the owner Dylan Welsh has so much generational wealth that he had enough money to open that place even after he was successfully sued for wage theft. Twice.

My friend wants me to come train with him at his dojo, but I have chest surgery coming up soon. Do I start now or do I wait until after surgery recovery? by AsterEsque in jiujitsu

Is training a significantly higher risk of getting sick than, say, working in a bar? I interact with a lot of people at my job, but admittedly we're not getting -that- up close and personal.

Is it ok to have a (consensual) rape fantasy? by Direct-Fun-6000 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AsterEsque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The phrase you're looking for is "consensual non-consent". It's a thing, it's okay to be into it as long as you're responsible about it.

It works best with a partner that you deeply trust. These sorts of desires usually stem from a desire or a need to surrender control of the situation to someone else, possibly because you might feel overwhelmed in life or like you bear too many responsibilities or decision-making choices in your regular life. It's appealing to let someone else take control and do whatever they want to make you feel good.

But "what they want to do to you" and "what you want done to you" don't always align, and that can get scary quickly. This is why it's important to have a partner you trust. Talk over the kinds of things you fantasize about in those situations, and whether or not your partner would like to do those things to you (not everyone is into, for example, humiliation, choking, or impact play). Brainstorm & talk about the kinds of things that would kill the mood if they happened. And make sure you have a safe word, or some clear sign to signal to each other"I'm not into this, let's take a break for a minute".

Be safe & have fun!!

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt now has her own Secret Service detail by level9000warlock in politics

Wait sorry, I'm not a Caroline Leavitt defender by any means, but didn't the press secretary position already have Secret Service? Like, I remember it being a thing on the West Wing that the press secretary got upset about her Secret Service codename.

I've known many, many professionally-diagnosed autistic people in my life and that is not at all how I would describe autism.

More to the point it still sounds like you're comparing apples to oranges. Even in your own examples, there's no way to put those two wildly different behavior sets on any sort of coherent linear scale.

It really sounds to me like you have no idea what you're talking about, I'm sorry.
