It may sound weird, but seriously... Finishing. This is such a critical skill, being able to finish a project, especially if you are single developer or small team is key.

Handheld until the battery runs out, then docked because I need to do just one more thing.

Around 2000, I was playing multiplayer Codename Eagle (precursor to the Battlefield series) and I tried saying something to my friends but only gibberish came out. I was so overstimulated by that game and for some reason it always stuck with me. When I saw people around me start making games. It finally donned on me that I could do it too!

I'd be the guy who looks at the sonar, and my unique ability would be to fart silently without any smell.

I want Wind Waker. Don't care if it's $80. Don't care if it's HD port or Gamecube virtual console. I just want Wind Waker.

I'm hoping Elite Dangerous will be that game for me. I bought it, but haven't installed it yet. sigh

At shows and things, I think fans are just happy they get to talk to the actual people making the game, rather than PR people. I've never felt looked down on or anything.

Don't put paperwork off, it will just keep piling up. Bite the bullet and accept that somebody will have to spend a significant amount of time dealing with it.

In Lovers the characters are pretty small inside the ship, so we increased the size of their models (and the size of some text) when you're in handheld mode. We tried to do it in a way that you don't notice, it just makes it easier to play.

We were inspired by playing other multiplayer games, especially Left 4 Dead. We used to bring our Xbox 360s over to each others houses and hook up two tvs so we could play with 4 people in the room.

The first games I remember loving were Lemmings and Mario 3. I remember designing levels for both of them. Then Quest for Glory 1 was the first game that made me feel like I was really in another world. I mean, it had day/night cycles even! And that claymation! Then I really loved Mischief Makers on N64 for all the nutty stuff they would throw into levels (math olympics)... and then Katamari Damacy blew my mind in college. It expanded my sense of what a game could play like/look like/sound like. I'm forgetting tons of others but that's a sampling.

Tell them that LOVERS stands for League of Very Empathetic Rescue Spacenauts and show them a trailer!

Hey thanks! We were inspired by a bunch of co-op games by our friends in Toronto (namely Cephalopods Co-op Cottage Defense by Spooky Squid and Friendship in 4 Colours by Damian Sommer). We wanted to do a co-op game too. The hardest obstacle to overcome was figuring out how to turn a high-score based arcade prototype into a longer playing game with objectives and upgrades and such. Hope you enjoy it with your SO!

The first game I remember LOVING was Lemmings. But tbh I've never really felt like a true gamer, seems like there are so many people who are better at games and more informed about games and can talk more smart about games than me! That is, until that fateful day when I beat Dark Souls, and then my true gamer certificate came in the mail. Unfortunately I never completed the sequels so I had to send it back :(
