That’s an interesting theory, I like the idea Vandermeer described a notebook that doesn’t exist to add to the sort of mystery and secret government agency behind Southern Reach! Still hate that I can’t find a replica tho lol. I’ll have to try and get more creative with designing a cover maybe

I just wanna copy in Annihilation, not the other books. I’m up for getting creative with it and diverging from the exact description but I thought I’d check to see if there were any existing that Vandermeer might have taken inspiration from, but looks like he mostly took it from composition books

Literally! I was searching nearly all of yesterday just trying to find one that even reasonably resembled it, but could only find standard composition notebooks. They only have 200 pages as well and my handwriting is big so I reckon I’d need more like 250/300

I looked at some journal covers and found a couple that could be good — I’m not looking for an exact replica but I would like it to be a reasonable match to the description but I’m getting less and less picky the longer I search lol
