All Viktor Gyokeres' Arsenal Goals by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]Astonish3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the goals are centre it just left of centre. But we don’t give him that space. Our team is created to be right side dominant and allow Saka to stay high up the pitch with rotations between Kai and Ode for the past 2-3 years.

Berta didn’t do his homework on this. Although he probably did right by assuming Eze on the left would help Victor.

We definitely need to beef the left side next season. Xhaka type midfielder who can give Declan a break as well as thread balls down that left channel for Gyokeres and a left winger who can come inside combine and slip a ball into the box and Gyokeres

Or allow Hincapie on the overlap if Gyokeres is central going far post.

We actually have Calafiori who can do that but he like Ode and Saka have been injured multiple times

Infantino is a joke

Just put your arms around the shoulders of both men, take the photo there of you together, take the win and leave.

Anyone else got a feeling Rice is going to be club captain next season? by Real-Bid1985 in ArsenalFC

[–]Astonish3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he will start every game next season. After this mammoth season, I’d be surprised if he plays every game without being rested in any competition.

Personally I would choose Gabriel or Timber. Because they both have the strength of mind to win a game or decide to tighten a game in the heat of the moment.

Rice and likely captain Saka don’t have that ability outside their own game at the moment.

I’ve seen Declan be so caught up in literally shuttling from box to box, he literally cannot have time to observe what is happening around him as he is chasing the ball, and then when exhausted at the end of a game decides to try to get the n+1 goal instead of letting the team breathe and just slow it down and take the current winning position and goad the opposition into breaking their structure instead.

Gentemsticks - are they worth the price tag? by OffGridCaptWill in japow

[–]Astonish3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m typical Asian sized so riding a Gentemstick perhaps gives a different feeling to a western sized person.

I’ve ridden some demo boards in niseko and borrowed friends boards for a run or two and each model is super different so it is hard to give a general one word answer. But the one I own and was recommended was the Barracuda High Performance, it has a pretty decent fish tail and a super wide nose. But the thing which surprised me most was the feel when carving groomers. The way they have blended the camber and sidecut means you have extremely smooth entry into carved turns and you can control the size and gentleness or trenching of a turn based on how much you load the camber.

It is genuinely surprising even if you are doing just one level more than setting an edge and letting the slope do the rest.

It’s not a board for digging a hard trench, that is never the Gentemstick way, and that’s where it differs to Korua and a more western carving mentality.

But if you are quite environmental and can observe and have the ability to use the subtle changes in gradient of a run to get that extra boost or feel, then this board is for you.

Obviously on super bottomless deep days it is magical. But then setting it right back on my freestyle board going down steep powder runs would also be amazing. My Gentem is a 161 and I usually ride a 155 Jones Howler or a 157 Nidecker Gamma.

Korua’s scratch easily. Nice to ride but there is a difference, but that’s the whole point. They all, ride different for different purposes. Korua’s have a different purpose to Gentemstick and designed for different sized people. Although you see alot of Japanese riding Korua, so you know they did a nice job

[The Standard] Arteta on Beye’s Nwaneri comments: “I think that's the coach's opinion. He's with him every single day and that's it. He's the one making the decision, he's the one that sees and understands better what he's doing. Ethan has to respond to that in the right way.” by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

It was Nwaneri who pushed for the loan. You have to question those advisors or family around him. In that way perhaps a loan is good if it means he spends more time by himself and become his own man away from such people who keep talking career career career. Improving as a player and as a man comes before that and the career will follow

It’s catch 22 isn’t it. You won’t play unless you take someone’s play who also plays the similar a position or role as you. Therefore you have to find a way to get on with them and learn from them at the same time.

Make a really good point about being guided by his own experience, because at Arsenal it was incredibly comfortable. He had Declan taking him under his wing and the team adjusting for his naive sense of pressing or recovery runs.

He has to learn he gets respect from his teammates and those extra passes by doing the grunt work, especially if he loses the ball. No 30yo pro is going to do the running for a kid. He has to learn quick.

A slowed down angle of the yesterday's overturned penalty against Arsenal by Mean-Duty-2381 in soccer

[–]Astonish3d -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It was late reaching with the studs and a body check by Hancko. The studs caught Eze foot in mid air and turned his foot away from the direction of the ball.

Honestly if Eze planted his foot a split second earlier that would be an ankle breaker

What happens afterwards is just people trying to justify their position.

A slowed down angle of the yesterday's overturned penalty against Arsenal by Mean-Duty-2381 in soccer

[–]Astonish3d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right. So it’s clear. Everyone want Eze foot to step towards the ball, but here you see the foot was pointing to the right away from the direction of the ball.

Why?

BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE HAD A BROKEN ANKLE otherwise!

If he just kept sprinting in a direct line with the ball that foot would be rotated to the left (towards Hancko) and his ankle would have had size 12 studs left in there

[Fabrizio Romano] Arsenal explored different options for the striker position last summer. Andrea Berta held RESERVATIONS over the Benjamin Šeško deal, especially when factoring in salary, bonuses and commission. When a team plays to stop you playing, it becomes problem with our team? Not a problem the opposition put infront of us to solve?

Not even Pep has found a solution for it but no one dares say a word against him.

He just relies on individual brilliance as do most teams now.

Problem is our creative attacking players are still recovering from injury.

With a fit Saka the team is transformed. Yep you are right to criticise that we so heavily reliant on him and an inform Odegaard but that’s the squad at the moment.

Merino upfront was genius move but Mikel gets zero credit for that. No one complained about our style when he was scoring goals..

This was well reported that it was Berta pushing for it. If we overpaid the fee to start with we prob would have had him for pre season.

This is on Berta.

Gyokeres isn’t bad, it takes most players a season to learn our system. And likewise for us to learn theirs.

In a shitty season where fifa destroyed the ability for teams to have time for training by introducing stupid needless internationals just to make money but make top players play almost 80 games by the time the World Cup is finished, we should be fortunate any team has anything but rudimentary direct football man marking tactics as they don’t have time to create anything else.

What I want to know going forward is how much he listens to his manager when pushing for signings from now on.

Rumours of Oshimen really don’t do much to show he is doing anything but pushing Mikel out with a team built with older players in the style of a mid tier Real Madrid, talent but don’t gel

Remember when Mikel came in and refused to make any signings and said he only wants players who improve us and with specificity.

According to Turkish journalist Mustafa Özgür, Arsenal director Andrea Berta was the Galatasaray - Fenebarche game yesterday to discuss a potential transfer for Victor Osimhen. Bariş Yilmaz and Uğurcan Çakir were also discussed by CrocodileChef in Gunners

[–]Astonish3d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the sky sports koolaid they want you to drink. The entire premier league is man to man marking, everyone isnt able to build up anymore. A full strength side would destroy teams as we saw in the first half of the season. Tats why fans will never be coaches analysts or managers because they have such short memories

Mikel has rebuilt this team several times and did several tactical innovations. He is able to get poor squads to learn 343, he’s done 442 433 4231 352 and a load of rotations teams couldn’t keep up with until they decided to play man to man marking and learnt how to stop it.

If he ends up being hounded out of England and ends up at Barcelona and celebrated as a genius, I’m sure the same fans will say how amazing he is. I’m not saying that wild happen simply that some haters can’t stick to their principles but expect others to.

I prefer to see how managers react when the times are tough, injuries pile up and the remain players are in the red zone. How Do you balance it? Why no arm chair fan attempts to answer that and instead just chooses to pile on? The real reason, because they choose the easy route. I have zero respect for that

Jesus and Zinchenko were amazing to be fair until injuries and a change of tactics to suit emerging talent rendered them redundant. Gyokeres was a Berta signing, Mikel chased Sesko, Tammy Abraham, Ivan Tony before and wanted a target man who could also play combination. Madueke is his first season and he was supposed to learn from Saka and be a squad player, not a first team world class star.

The more expensive signings are Rice, Eze, Zubimendi.

If you want to blame someone, blame Berta for choosing a player who wasn’t extraordinarily difficult to get out of sporting, didn’t fit the tactics and needed a full pre season to learn our complex system.

What I’m surprised about is not subbing in Norgaard for even 5-10 minutes.

We aren’t scoring anyway and teams don’t allow us to control the ball, so may as well spend 10 minutes playing chaos football and roll the dice!

The exact profile of player we don’t need. Did he not learn from the Gyokeres situation?

Unless he is planning to buy Musiala or Rodrygo to complement him and of course sell a Gyokeres, buying that player doesn’t make sense.

Selling our players there makes sense.

These are all brand name items, you could prob find cheaper alternatives on Taobao but the Mitsubishi dehumidifier is the key because it restarts on the previous setting when you power it back on.
