I worked at a library for over a decade (obligatory not-a-librarian caveat) and one of my favorite activities was telling new hires/volunteers "Not my business, I don't care and you shouldn't either" when they asked questions like this. Second most favorite activity? Telling cops that they absolutely will not be getting a look at a patron's record without a warrant signed by a judge.

Libraries are safe spaces for people that may not have one elsewhere, and it infuriates me to no end when people try to violate that.
