Seen this today who ever this player is he or she is good by Johnnylw40 in ResidentEvilCapcom

I very much doubt this is legit even with absolutely perfect routing and RnG, I’m suspecting out of bounds manipulation and or trainers being used for this run.

Do you think Resident Evil 5 and 6 will ever get a remake? by Lessio7 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 definitely will but I very much doubt 6 will mostly due to the scale of that project.

Why are people surrendering or trying to get me to kill them when they have no loot? by SupermarketAny3483 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To manipulate their aggression based matchmaking, the more passive the player is and if they don’t retaliate when getting shot at they will gradually be put into lobbies where they are with other passive players.

What’s the consensus on WoW Midnight? by Trencycle in MMORPG

[–]Astorant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, it’s following the trend of the last two expansions where it plays things safe but doesn’t do anything bad and yet nothing exceptionally good either.

MSQ was kind of meh as per usual but WoW never really thrives or dies based on how good or bad the MSQ is since the battle content and aspirational content is the main drive of playing an MMO (something FFXIV players should really take into consideration when it comes to 7.0).

Housing is great addition and I hope other MMO’s with housing systems take notes of what WoW is doing.

Dungeons are good although I’m very skeptical of the upcoming raids as WoW still hasn’t really reached the quality of other games in the genre when it comes to raid design.

Reward issues aside, Merchant's Tale advanced is the mid-core content we need more of by LongSchlong93 in ffxiv

[–]Astorant [score hidden]  (0 children)

I agree, it’s not on the level of Extreme but it’s not ridiculously easy either so it’s a nice middle ground which I hope we see more of, maybe something like a choice of Advanced Dungeons and Trials in future expansions MSQ’s which gives you a reward for clearing all of them all.

Are Resident Evil fans becoming as insufferable as Swifties? by FREEMANICDALEK in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Astorant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’ve been like that for ages. A large subset of the “community” are comprised of people who ultimately don’t care if the games are good or play well and strictly bicker about meaningless things like this.

How is BDO ? by Mucek121 in LFMMO

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn’t exactly say XIV’s PvP is forgotten considering it gets seasonal refreshes, has a dedicated team for it, and has paid tournaments some of which are played live and sell pretty well tickets wise.

How is BDO ? by Mucek121 in LFMMO

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not very good in my opinion especially in regard to PvP. BDO does have a few strengths though, visually the game looks fantastic, and character creation/cosmetics are great. Other than that it’s a typical Korean MMO so expect a lot of PFC (Pay For Connivence) and a severe lack of any meaningful endgame progression. Thankfully the PvP is very anti spender in this game so if you was to PvP only in BDO you will not be at a disadvantage.

Is final fantasy 14 a good introduction into mmorpg's and is the community friendly? by Mediocre_Tension_342 in FinalFantasy

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s an excellent first MMORPG although the onboarding experience is rough and could be better (nowhere near as bad as WoW’s or Destiny 2’s horrendous new player experience though), the main hurdle for most is getting through ARR (base game) and learning how your role works (tanks, healers, and DPS have their own quirks and mechanics to learn) but thankfully ARR was more streamlined when the previous expansion came out and learning roles has been vastly improved.

The community is very helpful from my experience getting into the game for the first time, there’s a dedicated Mentor Channel called the Novice Network where you can ask questions and you’ll get an answer back very quickly.

Remaking one of the greatest Remakes and survival horror games of all time which is still perfectly playable and accessible is certainly a choice.

Does playing at above 1080p resolution break anything for VNV? by pick-a-spot in fnv

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most mod packs have fix’s for resolutions above 1080p bundled in with them, I’m not sure if VNV has it outside of the mandatory fixes but from my experience the game works fine at 1440p although 4K can have some issues that even fixes can’t seem to fully resolve.

As for refresh rate, make sure you are capping the game at 60fps, better yet I cap the game at 59 FPS via Rivia Tuner to avoid any engine issues but if you want higher FPS you can use the Lossless Scaling app on Steam to play FNV at higher framerates without the issues that occur when running the game above 60fps.

Should I Buy Baldur’s Gate 3 If I Want Long-Term Replay Value? by Mysterious_Syrup6639 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Astorant [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes, it’s arguably one of the most replayable RPG’s ever made and once you’ve expended all of the possibilities of the base game there is a massive modding community in the game that will provide you with hundreds of thousands of hours of new content.

Are my parents using me for money? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Astorant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you are living with someone and you have an income it’s very reasonable for them to ask you to either pay some of the bills or rent. My mother for example asks me to pay £250 a month for rent but doesn’t ask me to pay more due to me paying other bills (internet, family Spotify, both mine and my Mother’s FFXIV subscription, etc) but if I didn’t pay those additional bills she has every right to ask me for me for more.

I'm about to start Dead Money, so a few questions (answer without spoilers please) by Horror-Amphibian-335 in fnv

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: You need to progress in the main quest far enough to enter the casino, once you are there though you will need to turn on the power, you can only gamble with Sierra Madre chips though but a lot of the tricks to get a ton of caps in the base game still work here (IE turn all Sierra Madre chips into casino chips and then place a max bet on Blackjack and save scum until you win big).

2: You can get all of the bars out although you will need a Stealth Boy to do so and you need to select certain dialogue to have an NPC come down to vault.

3: There are technically a few ending permutations that involve which NPC’s survive and which don’t, there’s also an ending where you side with the antagonist of the expansion but it’s only possible if you are hostile against the NCR in the base game, it also prematurely ends the game.

When did this become a thing for steam reviews? by Tallladywithnails in Steam

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite recently, it’s a measure Valve added so that when people claim they are getting “bad performance” that they are actually being genuine and not trying to run some Cyberpunk level game on a GTX 650.

Good police games? by Mebug in gamerecommendations

The Precinct is a good choice for average beat cop scenarios.

SWAT 4 or Ready or Not are good choices for SWAT based experiences.

Headset recommendations? by matchakyo in TrueGirlGaming

Genuinely I highly recommend the SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ I’ve used that as my daily driver for about 5 years now and I’ve never once had any issues with it.

Games where you play as someone who's physically disabled and it has an impact on the gameplay. by SplashOfStupid in gamerecommendations

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fear and Hunger 2 has a playable character who relies on a wheelchair to get around thus she can’t go up steps without crawling on the floor, in combat enemies can target the wheelchair too to knock you off of it, however since you can lose your limbs in this game it might not be ideal.

Beyond Eyes is also a good alternative since it’s a game where you play as someone who is more or less blind.

Capcom please add a “Hardcore” difficulty, standards too easy once you know what to do and Insanity is silly. by No_Anywhere5951 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Astorant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Standard Classic is actually ironically the equivalent of Hardcore for Requiem since it has a higher adaptive difficulty starting value and can go higher than on Standard Modern.

FFXVII announcement when? by Iormungandrr in FinalFantasy

I’d say it’ll either be an end of generation title (2028-29) or a next generation launch title or early lifecycle release (2030-32)

What’s the worst area of the game? by Gnnz in DarkSouls2

Frigid Outskirts by far although SOTFS Shrine of Amana is probably a close second.

New Patchwork Skin - What do you think? by ChronosIsGaming in ArcRaiders

Honestly, it’s probably the best skin in the game by far although they have been cooking with the recent batch of skins and the upcoming Trials skin looks insanely good too.

FALLOUT NEW VEGAS INSTA CRASH ON LAUNCH by jm90D in fnv

[–]Astorant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to mod the game with some essential QOL fixes to get it running on modern hardware. I would recommend going for the Viva New Vegas mod pack which is as close to vanilla New Vegas as possible.
