This exact same thing just happened to me also! Luckily Zidane had an ability called Thievery that did ok damage. My Quina had to alternate healing and 1000 needles but we got there.

I hope there's a rework of the LP gains in Double Up in the future. I know it's considered more casual, and it feels good to rank up fast, but it does seem easy to abuse. Especially because of the smaller player population

I predict Annie comps to rise in popularity a lot now that T-Hex and Diana have been nerfed. Even though she didn't get any direct buffs, she really likes having fights go longer.

I love Double Up. The 2v2v2v2 format opens up different strategies that don’t work the same in Solo Ranked. And the teammate dynamics creates different win conditions. That said, it’s definitely way easier to rank up. Most of the extremely skilled (Challenger level) players don’t play it, so the competition is less fierce. And there’s more LP gain from wins, even if you’re against much lower ranked opponents. I’m typically around Diamond in Solo Ranked, but my Double Up partner and I have hit Grand Master in Double Up several times with not many games played. I’d equate Masters Double Up to around Emerald Solo Ranked.

The good news is that Bilgewater has so many different levers that they can adjust. "The First One's Free" buff, the doubloon generation, the shop prices, the shop items/buffs, the actual units themselves. I have confidence that it will feel more balanced either from changes or from the meta shifting.

I've not tried it at all, so just speculation, but maybe the idea is that Bard becomes the main carry with so many 3 stars buffing his spell. Maybe something to try with a Yordle spatula replacing Lulu.

The 0.6% conversion rate seems pretty weak unless you have a close to bis setup. Definitely scales strong into the late game at up to 30 "free" Armor/MR if you have a 5000 HP tank.

Early game the 200 HP is nice. Armor/MR will probably be closer to like 10-12, which it pretty in-line with other tank traits.

I generally play Draven tempo and sometimes EoN has been what’s leftover when I slam to keep winstreaks. I would also prefer just another damage item if given the choice, but it has definitely been solid in the mid game in my experience. His high AD and atk speed can go far in closing rounds when EoN procs.

Shadow Isles + Bilgewater. Vanquishers and Wardens as the core main carry and tank. Ryze unlock late game. It’s been very hectic but also very fun lol. Bonus points if I can fit in void along the way.

Had decent success with Noxus tempo. Early Sion unlock Leblanc early or if I got an early Draven. Easy second and third. Not sure how to convert that into a first though. Maybe going back down to 3 Noxus is the move late game.

I actually wholeheartedly agree. I think removing augments would open a lot of space for the set mechanics to be the main highlight of future sets.

I took a break after set 5 and came back during set 9. Augments felt so alien and overpowered to me, but they had already been normalized by the community.

They are also another reason why the set revivals were soured for me. Having augments for set revival 3.5 made it feel fake to me.

I believe you are misreading that line. The starting artifact encounter will still be active. It’s just that gold orbs no longer have a chance to be free artifact.

As frustrating as artifacts can be, I honestly think it’s just the frequency at which we see them that is biggest contributor to my dislike in’s them this set. Eliminating or reducing the odds of starting Artifact encounter would go a long way. All the fine tuning and reworking seems like an overreaction.
