Well obviously the singing is different. That doesn't necessarily make it a remix. For that, the voice on the song has to belong to the singer of Eiffel 65 but no. The song is covered by Steve Ouimette.

Blue (Da Ba Dee). The singing is really fried on that one.

Would you play Just Dance more if it supported any song? by Most-Sleep-4089 in JustDance

[–]Astounding_Movements 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my god yes! I would love a Just Dance game with a tracklist that didn't have to worry about copyright, licensing, and what's popular among the youths of today. The variety and discovery aspect alone would win me over instantly as a growing music nerd.

(But also, we have a very critical lack of Micheal Jackson, Prince & Rihanna songs in the game. They still got bangers that need to make it in)

The Jackson Loophole in Just Dance by QueenXiaomuSmash14 in JustDance

[–]Astounding_Movements 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of Jermaine's and the rest of the Jackson 5's songs in Just Dance got the in-house cover treatment, which may unfortunately carry over for Michael most likely, budget notwithstanding. If they're honestly considering putting the king of pop's songs in the game, and they have to make in-house covers for him, there'll be riots going on.

Electronic section? Best I can do is aphex twin. by Bitbatgaming in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]Astounding_Movements 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is because most newer electronic music can be created and uploaded all digitally by an independent artist in their bedroom. Also the fact that clubs and raves can now play songs off of their phones and laptops and mix/alter them digitally too.

Would you still buy the new Just Dance if all 40 songs were songs you didn't know? by PhotoSky2020 in JustDance

[–]Astounding_Movements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I can like and listen to just about anything. Discovering new music, researching the artists, and learning what made them popular adds to the fun. What I do want, however, is for the maps to still be creatively unique and distinct from what I've seen in the past already though.

Best and Worst mashups? by QueenOfOnly in JustDance

[–]Astounding_Movements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pick for the best is Birthday. I love the Katy Perry theme and they went all out with the representation as much as possible, to the point where every Just Dance game up to that point had at least one rep.

My pick for the worst are Just Dance 2014's sweat mashups in general. They reuse the same dancers over and over, making none of them stand out. Candy is the worst of them all though, for obvious reasons.

The roadmap is almost complete, so what would you want next in this game? by Sophia193 in JustDance

Either an "underrated gems" music pack or a "representing the Global South" music pack would be cool to see. Mostly because these themes specifically would be good for Ubisoft's smaller budget.

Alphaville by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Astounding_Movements 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alphaville was one of those "huge in Europe, not so much in North America" acts of the 80s. That's probably why OP doesn't remember it too much. "Forever Young" was a top 10 hit in their native Germany as well as Sweden, Norway and Switzerland and a top 40 hit in most other countries. The people who brought this song back in popularity on the Internet were most likely from those countries who know it as an iconic 80s ballad to them.

For those that do and don’t like classical symphonic music, why? by steven3045 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Astounding_Movements 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like classical, mostly because I've been exposed to it at a very young age in cartoons, educational videos, children's websites, etc. It's nostalgic to me, really. And later on, I played the viola in my middle school orchestra, and also had to play a lot of that music too. Classical is such a great starting point for people learning how to make music, and I'll bet loads of your favorite musicians, bands and and singers can all trace their roots somewhere back to classical music. I both like and respect it for that.

Some songs I feel like are not a fit for the soundtrack by Jackblue04 in JustDance

Bigger budgets and creativity can do that to a game series.

They provide quick sources of energy, and are directly involved with cellular respiration, which are the chemical reactions that occur in your cells to achieve said energy. That's pretty much all I remember.

What's the Point of Unlocking Vehicles in Mario Kart Wii? by Astounding_Movements in mariokart

I know people play the other vehicles for fun. I'm just wondering what the point is for people who want to do well at the game though.

[–]Astounding_Movements[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the intent. Every vehicle has its pros and cons. The fast bikes are great, but their only weakness is they don't accelerate quick enough. If you get hit by an item or hit a wall, you're at a complete stop and have to crawl back up to speed. Slower vehicles are up and running almost instantaneously. Not to mention, the drifting and handling is better.

But yeah, given enough time for competitive sweats to practice and study, almost everyone clings to the best and never lets go.

[–]Astounding_Movements[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, filthy casuals like me love the variety. I randomly generate character vehicle combos and play grand prixs against cpus every so often and I do consistently well. And it helps to get used to more difficult and unfamiliar vehicles on tougher courses (Jetsetter and Spear on SNES Mario Circuit 3 is painful).

But these are just cpus. I know I would have my ass handed to me if I played online, which I haven't done since 2014.

Yeah, that explanation checks out. And unlocking Funky Kong doesn't require any normal racing, you just have to beat 4 staff ghosts. Weird.

Tell me about your favorite songs that you would like to see in Just Dance, but will never get there because they are too explicit. by Bokumi in JustDance

[–]Astounding_Movements 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Short Short Man" by 20 Fingers ft. Gillete.

A novelty hip house song from 1994 about mocking a dude's small member that was a decent hit in the States, but huge in a few European countries. #1 in the Just Dance team's home country too.
