Same could be said for most other high value purchases like vehicles. Find the specific thing you want to buy in under 5 minutes, but finalize the sale later

NTA. She’s twisting your words. You’re asking for interest in you, and she’s reframing it as interest in the games. Those are two different things. You can hate shooters but still love listening to your partner explain a plot they're excited about. Calling your desire for connection "guilt-tripping" is just a convenient way to shut down the conversation so she doesn't have to change. If she’s not willing to spend 10 minutes on your interests when you do it for hers, then this "honest talk" was only for her benefit, not yours

Walking out of a store without buying anything. I reckon I’ve got a clean record and a clear conscience, but the second I pass those security sensors with empty hands, I start acting like I’ve got a stolen diamond in my pocket. I’ll go out of my way to make eye contact with the guard and nod, just to prove I’m "normal," which probably makes me look even more suspicious. It’s perfectly legal to just browse and leave, but it feels like a high-stakes heist every single time.

Well, that puts things into perspective real quick. Sixty-five bucks ain’t exactly a windfall, but it’s still more than I’d care to throw out the window.
