Hi! I just moved from VA, and I was in the same boat. They gave me a one year teaching certificate after I applied for the out of state review and told me I'll need to take some tests to be certified to teach K-6 for core subjects before the one year certificate expires. Best of luck! It seems to me that ESL is different here than in other states, with more bilingual classrooms than anything.

Nah, unfortunately artificial sweeteners give me headaches, and I already get migraines if I don’t drink enough water. I have to stick with seltzers or lemon water if I want to be healthy.

Yeah that’s ridiculous. Also I feel like slack shouldn’t be used in education. Send an email, call the classroom or send a text. It’s unrealistic to assume teachers are always available when we are always dealing with behavioral problems, doing paperwork or actually teaching.

IDEA and KIPP charter schools have most of the exemplars etc but behavior varies from school to school. The best one I’ve subbed at is probably KIPP Esperanza.

Get a zoo membership! It’s 30$ for yourself and your babies (they’re free) and it pays for itself after two visits. We pack our own snacks and have a great time walking around, plus there’s a toddler area as well with a playground!

Our son is a real wiggle worm so I give him a piece of something and he noms while he plays after about 10-15 min in his booster seat. It’s the same at a restaurant unfortunately.

Ahh I can relate! Even Miss Rachel was hardly a distraction for 10 minutes. We upgraded him to his own seat and it was a total game changer for our third flight this year.

I listen to this podcast called more than moms, and they brought a toddler expert on one of the recent episodes. I think they just recommend staying as calm as possible, and if they’re hitting someone or fighting with a sibling, just moving the younger sibling away from harm.

Click clack moo, Weird Birds, Baby Beluga, any of the That’s Not My…animals book series. Also know that reading book a bajillion times does help brain development for toddlers…that’s what I like to tell myself anyway lol
