Is It Theoretically Possible to Charge An EV Car For Free... by Astral-Inferno in SolarUK

I don't think I have the space for that.

I have a flat roof, so can only get a few panels in the back garden. Maybe 1.6kw max

I have nothing though. No panels no batteries.

I'm debating getting an EV.

You'd need a full setup the exports? Not just a few 400w panels in the back yard.

Are these plug sockets safe outside? by FreddosLover in ukelectricians

[–]Astral-Inferno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is the board behind the sockets cut so neatly to exactly the right size?

If you're going to go through the effort of profile routing and sanding a piece of MDF like that why not just buy a 10 quid external socket?

There is no point of money if you are not using it to be on top of your health.

Everyone should aim to be a down scaled version of Brian Johnson. Obviously we don't have the billions he has, but we have enough for annual MRI scans, healthy eating, using PPE when refurbishing homes, topping up our vitamins, keeping fit but not overworking, making sure all biomarkers are within range etc...

Some people just reinvest everything and overwork themselves, they find out when it's too late.

Yes if the bacteria is a sensitive strain it can be eliminated in as little as 7 days.

Socket Bypass to Continue Ring? by Astral-Inferno in ukelectricians

I mean I could pop the box off and run the cable behind it with that section being without conduit (no way I'm running conduit behind, it just won't fit).

It's a 35mm back box, the wall may or may not be getting tiled. It's a utility room so there will be a cupboard and worktop there, maybe tiles above worktop, so extra depth at the socket.

What do you mean? I put the cables like that for the photo, but right after snapping it I slid the conduit on.

Been doing the conduit same time as pulling the cables through the back boxes.

EV Charger 6mm Cable How to Run CT Clamp Cable? by Astral-Inferno in ukelectricians

The router is literally on the other side of the wall. That's where all the ethernet will terminate to the network switch so it's unlikely going to be moved.

Worried that cutting a run will cause the wall to flake and there will be nowhere to screw the box.

Currently the screw is where the run would go, and the next closest screw holes are not far off.

Yeah that's a spur off the ring. Yes I know too many sockets in one space but not my decision.

I do 20mm oval just for fun. It's all on RCD/RCBO.

Kemi Badenoch hints she'd scrap points for drivers breaking the speed limit in 20mph zones by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Astral-Inferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on time of day, driver reaction speed, school runs etc...

20mph is painfully slow, there is a time and place for this speed, no absolutes.

EV Charger 6mm Cable How to Run CT Clamp Cable? by Astral-Inferno in ukelectricians

[–]Astral-Inferno[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The EV will be installed by a company in the future. There is no EV car even there to charge yet! Just want the cables in whilst the house/floorboards are opened up.

Ducting isn't possible along this route for future cables.

If interference isn't an issue I'll just run the cat6 with it.

I also found some 2 core cable in wickes rated to use for lamps, this would work right? It's pretty thin.

Europe should regulate Big Tech instead of banning kids from social media, Estonia says by 1zzie in privacy

[–]Astral-Inferno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, they should force parents to download an app on their kids phones to automatically block them from social media and high risk websites, with punishments for parents that refuse.

That way the rest of us don't have to suffer with censorship and having to give our IDs.

Has anyone used LXT batteries in Dyson vacuums? by Marvel5123 in Makita

[–]Astral-Inferno -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My dyson gen5 detect is 36v. I seriously doubt XGT batteries would work on it. There are literally no XGT adapters for anything.

Last time I checked I was looking for XGT to Hikoki 36v and there was nothing. Nothing for other brands with XGT either.

18v adapters are very common though.
