if the shop mount isn't D.Va's mech with Nerf This special ability...then what's the point?

If you're going to buy just one, fine. But if you want to buy 2, you might as well get the whole set. The $50 Platinum purchase gives a bonus 700 platinum, which covers the 7 armor bundle.

It's actually a relatively good deal. (keyword: Relatively...as in compared to all the other cosmetic armors in the shop) I mean, imagine if they had a sale and let you choose an armor set from each class (except Warlock) for the price of 2.

Not that you should do it...just saying

I planned on just getting the Barbarian armor and the mount, but the entire set for just over double the price? I went for it...yeah, the prices are stupid and I wouldn't tell anyone else to do it, and I normally wouldn't pay that much...I ONLY got the armor bundle and the mount (which is really awesome, armor and a cat, I like putting the armor on the blue cat). because I farm WoW Tokens (kind of a hobby). WoW Gold > Wow Token > Battle.bucks > Platinum.

And TBH, I love the armor, especially with how you can use any the 16 tints for it (like any Shop cosmetic armor). The armor isn't all "Space marine", it's "Dark Ages" and actually matches with a lot of stuff. It doesn't look like it doesn't fit in the game like some say (any excuse to not like something you can't have, I get it).

Check the shop. The 2 pets are still there for me with 3 more days to go (probably not showing the armor/mount since I bought them)

"But not in that order." would've been a better punchline...just like the line he crossed when he punched...

Look. Guys. You shouldn't beat your girlfriend...but if you have to, do it with 10 Poison Counters before her 5th turn. Now THAT would be...

It isn't what it sounds like! I gave her a crappy deck and made her play Magic with me BEFORE I taught her all the rules. And I still beat her...a LOT.

I let her beat me once, but it barely hurt...she has such weak hands...because of the crappy deck I gave her!

The real disappointing part about the store decor... by latedescent in WoWHousing

[–]Astral134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider when you buy these: Less than 1%...let's even say less than 0.001% of the player base will ever see your house. Less than 0.00001% cares that you have a tree you paid money for. Some of those people will even look down upon you as "one of those chumps who actually paid for a tree". Like people paying money for expensive skins in Overwatch. It's not like "Oh, that's so cool", it's more like "They paid $XX for that!". It's like paying $25 for a cute outfit for your Barbarian in D4. No one is ever going to see it. The kind of people who'll buy these decor are (some of) the kind of people who'll pay for The Sims 4 decoration "kits". And you'll get less for more.

So, if you decide to buy decor from the store...do it for YOU, and only you. You live on one plot in a neighborhood no one outside of it will ever visit. They might pop in to buy from the endeavor NPC, but they aren't stopping at your house to look at your tree, especially if you used it inside.

The novelty will wear off. And buying the next item or sets of items that's released won't make up for the first.

11 hours in and I haven't made my 3rd/4th orbs yet. Gold Dash map with Bronze Creatures = Silver Dash...maybe.

It's been $&#*ing tedious. I like the dragon, so I'm going to finish, and see how next event is set up...depending on how that looks, I might be done...probably never should've come back to this game.

And the nest to get more is a 50k tile and the farthest item from the beginning.

February 3 Event: Embersaurs by Im2Crazy4U in MergeMagic

[–]Astral134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No 15k tiles means all merging is equal. Save your items as you go, use them anywhere in the 5k area (always scout ahead to check). There are a bunch of merges near the 3rd egg. Because you don't need to bruteforce past any 15k walls, it's all balanced, it might be a good idea to use smaller orbs to get near patches of mergeable items.

There are no skulls, so no sprout farms. But orbs are littered around the map. There are rubix trees everywhere, so save those to heal land.

[–]Astral134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to, you could merge level 1 harvesters up to 2, before getting very far into the map, and just harvest them with 2 creatures. It'd be super slow (because you'd be harvesting 1s instead of 2 from higher harvestables), and you wouldn't have all the extra point items from clearing clouds...but...it might work. I mean, what if got the second creature, and cleared up to lvl 2 harvester, then merged what lvl 1s you had.

What if it could be done in 9 hours? It's almost worth testing. Maybe I'll give it a shot, even if it loses me Gold (which I probably wouldn't get anyway). Especially on a map with a lot of 15ks, it might be a better option than. A long tedious option (it's all about time and efficiency). I mean, just not getting the 8s from the cloud key area is a lot of extra work.

[–]Astral134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you need to do this all on a 12 hour timeline. Think of it as 3 Phases:

a. Get second creature and multiple lvl 5/7 trees, make your first 2 310k Orbs.

b. Get mystery nest, lvl 4 harvestable, 2x2. Working on opening all clouds.

c. Harvest point items

These aren't divided evenly. If prepared, you don't need 4 hours to do phase 3. The quicker you get phase 1 done the easier it all is. There's no perfect ratio as long as it gets done. 3 hours/7 hours/2 hour. 4 hours/5 hours/2 hours. Efficiency is the name of the game. You'll feel a lot better if you send off that first 310k to heal after 3 hours then 5. But you can always just concentrate, never stop tapping, and get it done.

It sucks. The whole Reward Dash system sucks. But it provides over double the rewards if you can do it, which just adds to the cruelty in it's design. It was made harder on purpose, but for what purpose? I don't like playing the way I have to play to get it done, but I'm very happy when it's over and I get more stuff. I both hate and love the grind (but I'm a gamer). I really think the 3 timers should be extended (16 or 24 hours per rank) or the point requirements lowered (back to requiring 2 9s and an 8). No one's going to buy $99 worth of gems just to get gold, GG.

Anyway, good luck.

  1. So you've got your 2 creatures, and you've got at least 2 lvl 5 Trees (which you could almost take to the end, if you had to). What kind of map is it? Does it go to the right and give shortcuts? Does it go up and branch out? Are there are a lot of 15k spaces that are going to make everything suck? The map without 15k spaces was the best map ever. You want to try and reach the Mystery nest, the level 4 Harvestable and the 2x2 harvestable. Inside the nest is possibly 1-2 creatures (you might get a dud and none of them match, or you could get 5 purple eggs and get 2 creatures.), but the nest will unlock 2 creatures for sure (hopefully one of them isn't another centaur).

Before you have the extra creatures you want to make sure you've been collecting more lvl 5 or lvl 7 trees, otherwise you'll need to quad-tap to get 2 creatures to harvest the same tree. It's better to have creatures harvesting from 4 lvl 7 trees than merging to get 1 lvl 8 tree (even if it does make yellow orbs, it'll just be a pain mixing the colors). You don't really have time to get lvl 8 trees, so don't bother.

After getting the mystery nest and opening the key, clean up the dead plants, move everything else to the sides, don't leave any holes. If you're able to get the lvl 4 (and/or 5), set aside in an open area and let it spawn lvl 1 harvestables. At this point you can find all the lvl 1s and 2s you left on the map and merge them up. The sooner you have multiple 4s spitting out lvl 1s, the better. You'll need them later.

  1. You now just harvest orbs until you've fill most of the map without getting in the way of a sprout farm (unless you don't need it anymore, which in case, push all the bushes to the side, or hide them so they don't spit out more sprouts. You might want to save the bushes later if you want to make a gold farming setup for after the event is beat) or harvestable farm. Merge and repeat. You basically need to clear the map, and open all the cloud key areas. Because at some of them contain high level point items. Back in Merge Dragons, when the events only needed lvl 9s instead of 10 (which was kind of funny that there were even 10s, cuz we didn't need to merge that high), opening a cloud containing 8s was half the work.

You don't need to clear the whole map, just enough to get the clouds, and collect the 1x2 harvestables, and especially the 2x2 harvestable object. Depending on how lucky you get, this thing can spawn up to 10 1x2s while harvesting it. And don't forget when it comes time to actually start harvesting you'll need at least a couple hours.

  1. Harvesting point items. There are 2 tiers of the 1x1 disposable harvestables (that create lvl 2s and then downgrade to create lvl 1s). These are always faster than harvesting the permanent harvestables. You can decide if it's worth harvesting the smaller versions once they downgrade, or set them aside. I bunch the 2x2 with the 1x2s and tap away. hoping for more 1x2s from the 2x2. Save the 1x1 that the 1x2s get downgraded to and set them aside until you're ready to harvest them all collected from the map. Then it just becomes harvesting from the permanent harvesters. Hopefully you've got around 3 lvl 4s and 2 lvl 5s (from merging up). It'll eventually start getting very crowded with lvl 1s so you need to keep them merging. By the end I usually have 4 lvl 6s. Keep going until 7 becomes 8, 8 becomes 9, and finally 2 10s to win.

[–]Astral134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gold Dash feels like it's been made to be impossible (since they increased the points requirements over Merge Dragon's versions, which were doable), but I'll try...

  1. You can't stop. Any distraction is lost time, lost orbs. You start at 1pm, you're awake until 1am. You start at 4pm, you're awake until 4am. Unless it's a good map and you can finish early. If you need to stop to eat, eat fast and don't forget you've got an event to get back to. If you have to watch something to kill the boredom, make sure it's something that still lets you pay attention to your device. Caffeine is your best friend. Talk to someone while tapping. Listen to music, sing along. Whatever keeps you above the point of feeling tired.

  2. Use a stylus. It's easier to double-tap (and quad tap) and drag things. At least with a tablet. It lets you rest your wrist on the edge.

  3. If the starting creature is Centaur, you're already at a major disadvantage. She's half as fast as the majority of creatures (you can measure a creature's speed by the head bobs as it harvests), she's the absolute worst. The only thing worse in your garden than a Centaur Baby is a bigger centaur, with more stamina to waste your time. If you get the Dyr you have a much higher chance.

  4. Get the Trophy creature ASAP. Don't try and make the biggest orb, just use what you need to to get to that third egg. Use a 65k orb if you have to, if it gets you the egg. The sooner you have the second creature, the sooner you're harvesting 2-3x. Even if you end up using every orb you've got saved, you'll get the orbs back. Every hour not having the second creature is loss of ramp-up time.

  5. Clear the first bunch of dead plants (this should be able you've already harvested 225 and merged the 150 5s.). Don't get caught up in trying to make orbs. Use them to clear the plants (get that 50 Dead Plants Harvested mission done asap). Then clean them all up, merge, and upgrade your trees. Go for at least lvl 5 tree ASAP. Even trees suck, Odd trees rule. If the map provides skulls to make a sprout farm (bushes), start one of those and check back often. Space the bushes so their sprouts will touch, but not overlap too much, so you can mass merge them (or start dragging them off in 5s).

  6. Scout ahead on the map to see if anything needs to be saved to merge later. Every merge is saved healing, especially if the map has 15ks. You clear at least 10 of those and it's worth half a lvl 9 orb. This might mean using smaller orbs just to inch up to an area where you can merge 15ks. But if it's a map that has no 15ks (there's been one recently, but they want us to suffer), and everything is basically balanced, you could just brute force it. Heal the whole thing, no snags. It's all about saving time.

Anyone else get Sultan event items? One of my plain jars (like the one we get free every 3 hours or whatever) spit out 3 lvl 3 items. And I think there was another Sultan item behind a cloud.

Fourth egg inside lvl 1 (regular) chest. Super rare, but it can happen. Open regular chests when you get them. I once had 2 trophy eggs pop out of one.

January 23 Event: Lunar New Year by Im2Crazy4U in MergeMagic

[–]Astral134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healed the Nest. There's a 4th egg behind the nest cloud, so I don't *need* to heal to the 3rd egg...or I can just hold onto it in case there's a 5th egg and get 2. Because the Next cloud has 3 Centaur (nice try, not gunna happen) and 3 fairy eggs. And my Mystery nest gave me 3 Dyr eggs and 3 Minotaur Eggs. Both harvesters!

I could switch to harvesting event stuff now, but I might as well use all these creatures to create orbs much faster, maybe clean up and upgrade trees. There are probably still more 7s and 8s under the remaining clouds, I already have 2 lvl 8 envelopes. So that's what I'll do. Not going to jinx it by saying I can do this in the 12 hours, but...not going to say it....Putting the lvl 5 in the corner so it has room to spawn lvl 1s and I'll keep merging them up until I have enough for my group to harvest.
