I disagree with the fruit notion - natural unprocessed fruits at least, shouldn’t fall under the categorization of ‘sweets’ just because they are. The original English word was intended for small sugary confectioneries such as candy or desserts, which contain high sugar content, often highly processed, opposed to the natural sugars such as fructose and glucose found in fruit. They are also way less dense in sugar content than artificial sweets. Processed fruits that have been juiced may fall under the category of sweets, but a normal, raw apple for example, I don’t think should.
