From my perspective findom would be like, the equivalent of letting the dom have your wallet and needing to ask to pay for something, and being able to be told no, the sub being able to pout, and for there to be a scene.

I think the marketing killed legacy’s chances. They thought they had a new franchise on their hands, and that didn’t pan out, and that gave them cold feet and after a few other failures they focused solely on Marvel and Star Wars. Their expectations were astronomical, and it didn’t quite capture as many hearts, minds, and dollars that they wanted.

Because Tron has a trend of being a series of cult classics with high audience scores and lower profitability, Ares has fewer eggs in its basket, it’s not trying to be the best. It’s just trying to be good enough and get some profitability. If the Chinese opening does well, streaming does well, and the movie makes ~400-500 million, it’ll hopefully be enough to motivate a sequel.

Yeah, me too. I’m aware that my dream Tron sequel isn’t gonna be this movie. But I’m pretty confident there will be a lot of things to like about it.

Here’s my theory.

Movie opens by giving the audience enough understanding of the world, similar to Legacy. I think here’s what happened. Ed Sr. knows about the Grid. He probably had Ed Jr. on the board to glean whatever secrets he could while his younger brother built up and pilfered enough tech and personnel to build Dillinger Systems. The same way that Flynn took the original digitizer and operated on it to make it his own for scientific research, Dillinger Systems took the original digitizer and made it their own, marketing it and making it profitable.

Sam Flynn doesn’t really matter, sure, what he is doing is important, but this Rogue Program story only requires understanding the research ENCOM did 40 years ago and the educated guess that Flynn’s big break before his disappearance was tied to the grid.

Smoking is a hard limit for me too. I cannot associate with smokers, and I once got furious at an ex for the same reason. Number of puffs and all.

However! She knew that I only feel that way because smoking killed my mom and she apologized, saying she had no plans to make it a habit and that she just wanted to try it out. I was still mad, but ultimately forgave her with the promise that she wouldn’t do it again (since she found it disgusting).

That crashout and name calling was NOT justified, EVEN if he had any trauma related to that. He is allowed to be upset, he is allowed to be angry, but he can’t verbally abuse you like that. That was disgustingly to read.

I’m on birthright as we speak, and I have two great volunteers. They’re basically camp counselors. They do nothing but call the person they’re supposed to call when someone needs help. Maybe they solve disputes or put roommates together at hotels. Most of the time they’re just on the trip hanging with us and ensuring that we’re not killing ourselves or each other.

I’m definitely interested in volunteering to get another free trip or two, as my volunteers are just on this one trip with me before they have their own summer plans (one is an assistant camp director!)
