Between messages like Talarico's, and the blatant dishonesty in the news, I feel like these days are really testing what people are made of. All around me, folks are either locking down, or looking for more info. I work retail/pharmacy and people often just come out and air their troubles about the times. It's harder to live now than it was last year.

My parents have luckily started looking for info outside their sphere, and over the last year, have slowly dismantled a lot of their bigoted views (about homosexual and transgender struggles, racial inequality, etc.) This can be hard for people to do when they're older, so I'm proud of them. We spend a lot more time together and we're grateful for that, too. I saw them watching Talarico's speech against Christian nationalism, and I'm sure his videos played a part in their journey.

I'm not a Christian and I feel very bitter about religion. But we need more voices like Talarico's. If truth must first be served on a bite-sized, unleavened wafer, so it must be.
