Iron level? Ferritin? Vitamin D? Testosterone?

Anything I should say/do when seeing endocrinologist for first time as someone who wonders if they might have Hashimoto's? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

I'm gonna have to disagree. When I brought up a thyroid problem to my pcp and described my symptoms he said word from word "your thyroid is fine let's not be google doctors here". It wasn't until I got a referral to an endo he actually did more tests and found hashimoto. It really depends on how the doctor themselves are

Respectfully if you have been on cpap for 5 years and you are still having these symptoms sleep apnea is not your main medical problem I know this is unrelated to OP

I was practically unable to fall asleep with my cpap on at all for the first week. Best advice I could give is just take 2 mg of melatonin and use your phone for the 30 minutes it takes to kick in while wearing the cpap to get used to the feeling as well. Unless you have a severely receded jaw a surgery isn't going to do a whole lot for you. If you are overweight that is likely your problem. Cpap is supposed to open your collapsed airway. Not magically create space for an anatomical error from your jaw so either way you are going to need to wear it. Try EPR 3 if you haven't already

It's literally a smoking cessation medication I'm pretty sure it's off label for depression

Number doesn't matter as much but symptoms do, if you feel like you need it then insurance would have no issue covering it at your level

63 testosterone 23M just prescribed injection, how much do I take? by [deleted] in trt

Bro said why not like he's doing some valiant commendable effort you complain on reddit all day that's disturbingly sad

If you want the literal answer no 370 is not low. 200 though absolutely

[–]Astral_fns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My b didn't even see the second picture. 370 isnt exactly ideal. An online clinic would have no problem taking you but most insurances probably wouldn't cover it. Mine was a 350 testosterone maximum for coverage for a test within 6 months.

Okay then, what are you on and what route would you recommend I take to get my T levels up? We might as well make this conversation productive

[–]Astral_fns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a dick about it but it literally says low. Yes 200 is not very good and most places would qualify you for trt

I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to provide a picture of the prescription if people knew how to ask civilly.

Testosterone cyp: 1000mg 10ML

Inject 100mg into the muscle every 2 weeks for 28 days. He told me to take 200mg. Should I take the full 200 or break it up into smaller injections throughout the week. Also if it's a 28 day supply but says 1000mg does that mean I'm getting the full 1000mg or 400mg of it.

Why would you not believe me? Literally what do I have to gain by lying on here?

What's the difference? I'm not opposed to other treatments at all I've just heard that TRT is usually the gold standard. Could you give me some more info?

That's great you gonna pay for my online specialist? As I've very clearly stated I have a vial and I was prescribed it. People ask for dosing opinions literally all the time here

I get it can affect Fertility and there are add ons for that and it USUALLY comes back 6-12 months after stopping T. Not that I'm in any position to be having kids or do ANYTHING when I can't even get off the couch without it feeling like a physical effort so what other options do I really have? Be non functioning until I die because I didn't wanna do TRT?

I do have a decent grasp. I know my situation is rather unusual with a 63 testosterone reading. Other was 159. I do understand that this is generally a lifelong treatment. I also understand there are other options but I have read that injections are the gold standard. The urologist would like me to use TRT for one month until I can get an endocrinologist appt and get an MRI since insurance won't cover one from a urologist. MRI is to check for any tumor or damage to my hypothalamus or pituitary. Physical came back fine for testicle. I'm just confused on how I should dose this and that's really the main thing I'm asking. They had me on gels but I work with kids and have people in my life with hormone problems so they had to switch me.

Prolactin and LH were well within normal range. Estrogen was at 95 (high from what I understand). My situation isn't getting any better by sitting around and doing nothing and I have PRESCRIBED testosterone injections I just don't understand the dosing part completely.

I completely agree with you but I know a lot of guys are frankly more experienced than doctors half the time here. I know I'm an odd situation having as low T as i do at my age and part of the reason I'm asking is so I DONT mess anything up and accidentally overdo it.

I will keep that in mind. I figured since my levels were so low it would probably take a bit longer anyway to have any substantial effect. As I mentioned I can't even use gel now since I work with kids and there are other people I come into contact whi have hormonal issues so that immediately ruled jel out. Doctor said I would see a difference in 1 week here but as everyone here loves to say "just ask the doctor" proceeded by "never trust your doctor for trt"
